MANCHESTER, N.H. – Six different players scored goals for the Saint Anselm College field hockey team in a massive 7-0 win over Southern Connecticut State in Northeast-10 Conference play on Saturday afternoon. The Hawks have now won five of their last six games.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Saint Anselm scored twice in the opening period of play to jump out to an early 2-0 lead. Junior Millie Forster (Cholmondeley, Cheshire, England) scored her third goal of the season off a feed from senior Chloe Kapsambelis (Merrimack, N.H.) just over five minutes in and at the 10:58 mark, freshman Leila Haertel (Mannheim, Germany) finished off her second career goal which was set up by junior Marissa Politano (Acton, Mass.)
- The Hawks struck quickly in the second quarter with their third goal of the game a little less than three minutes in. Senior Ava Rayfield (Dover-Foxcroft, Maine) notched her first goal of the afternoon assisted by senior Stephanie Sutton-Brown (Ashby, Mass.).
- Saint Anselm went on to fire six more shots in the second quarter, but were unable to capitalize as the score remained 3-0 at halftime.
- Saint Anselm extended their lead to 6-0 with a strong third quarter. The Hawks scored three times in a six-minute span with Kapsambelis and Politano each scoring and Rayfield picking up her second goal. Senior Amanda Lewandowski (Franklin, Mass.) earned a pair of assists on the fourth and fifth goals.
- With less than a minute to go in the fourth quarter, the home team scored one more time to make it 7-0 as freshman Ruby Reid (Belfast, Maine) scored her first collegiate goal off of a pass from classmate Kelly Holmes (Norfolk, Mass.).
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Saint Anselm totaled 25 shots with 19 coming on goal. Southern Connecticut State posted just two shots, both of which came on goal.
- The Hawks earned 17 penalty corners in the game compared to just two for the Owls.
- The Saint Anselm offensive strike was split between six different goalscorers, highlighted by Rayfield with two goals and Reid's first collegiate score. Nine different Hawks recorded at least one point.
- Senior goaltender Sidney Falterer (Fairfield, Conn.) made two saves across 41:45 in the shutout win for Saint Anselm. She was relieved by sophomore Mackenzie Wehrum (Garden City, N.Y.), who did not face a shot in 18 minutes of play.
