HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The teams traded baskets in the first five minutes of the first quarter. Bentley got on the board first, but Saint Anselm responded to tie the score after every Falcon basket. Bentley took the lead, 9-6, on an Ella Thomson three-pointer, but sophomore Harmony Marquez (Rutherford, N.J.) answered with a made triple of her own to tie the score for the fourth time early in the game.
  • Fifth-year Liv Robles (Wallingford, Conn.) and junior Katie Lemanski (Haymarket, Va.) each scored four points for the Hawks in the first quarter, all within the paint, but Kylie DuCharme scored two field goals in the final minute to give the Falcons a 19-13 lead at the end of the first.
  • Bentley began to pull away in the second quarter after going on a 15-4 scoring run over the first five and a half minutes. Six points from DuCharme and three three-pointers aided the Falcons during that stretch. The visitors held a 38-21 lead at the half.
  • Hoyt started to get it going early on in the third quarter. The forward made three straight baskets for Saint Anselm including an and-one. However, Bentley scored 22 points in the quarter to extend their lead to 23 with the score at 60-37 heading into the fourth.
  • Robles opened up the final period by knocking down her first three of the game. The fifth-year would connect on another triple midway through the quarter. Robles and sophomore Tatum Forbes (Pawtucket, R.I.) combined to score 15 of Saint Anselm's 20 fourth quarter points, but the Hawks would run out of time to mount a late comeback.
