MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College men's lacrosse team has been selected to its third-consecutive NCAA Division II Men's Lacrosse Championship.
The Hawks (9-4) will head to the East Coast Conference Champions in Mercy College. The contest between the sixth-seeded Hawks and third-seeded Mavericks will be held on Wednesday, May 10 with the opening faceoff slated for 12 p.m.
The Dolphins from Le Moyne College earned the top-seed in the North Region while Mercyhurst University secured the second seed, which advances both programs into the quarterfinal round. Bentley University and Adelphi University locked down the fourth and fifth seeds and will meet on Wednesday from Waltham, Mass.
The First Round game with be held at Mercy Field on the campus of Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. The winner will advance to the Quarterfinals and will meet the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Champion, Mercyhurst. That contest is scheduled for Sunday, May 14 from the campus of Mercyhurst. The NCAA Division II National Championship will be held on Sunday, May 28 from Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pa.
Saint Anselm appeared in the Northeast-10 Conference Semifinal Round for the third-consecutive season. The Hawks opened the season with a pair of wins before falling to a pair of nationally-ranked top-five teams at the time in Le Moyne and Adelphi. Saint Anselm rattled off five consecutive wins before dropping a conference game to Pace and wrapped up the regular season with a win over Assumption. The Hawks won a First Round matchup over the Setters before falling to the eventual NE10 Champion in Le Moyne on May 3.
Mercy collected its fourth-straight ECC Championship with a 15-9 win over Frostburg State on May 6. With the win, the team improved to 14-3 on the season and rattled off a 6-0 record against conference opponents in the regular season.
The Hawks and Mavericks have met five times previously to their First Round meeting. Mercy has won each of the five matchups including the most recent contest on Mar. 4, 2017 from Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. Four of the five games have been decided by just one goal.
The Hawks placed nine student-athletes on the NE10 All-Conference Teams including senior
Ryan Slattery (North Andover, Mass.) who became the first two-time Defensive Player of the Year in program history. The senior was joined by junior
Noah Larsen (Northborough, Mass.) and senior
Will Harvey (Franklin, Mass.) on the First Team while junior
Nick Larsen (Northborough, Mass.) and senior
Andrew Bonavita (East Longmeadow, Mass.) collected Second Team honors.

Jack Andrews (Cumberland, R.I.) was selected to the All-Conference Third Team while freshmen
Chris Claflin (Newton, Mass.),
Quinn Gannon (Scituate, Mass.), and
Colby Goodchild (Reading, Mass.) wer named to the All-Rookie Team.
