Five student-athletes from men's lacrosse collect All-America honors

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Five student-athletes from the Saint Anselm College men's lacrosse team have been named to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) All-America Teams, announced by the association on Friday.

Senior Ryan Slattery (North Andover, Mass.) collected All-America First Team honors while classmate Will Harvey (Franklin, Mass.) secured a defensive midfield position on the Second Team.

Junior Nick Larsen (Northborough, Mass.) was placed on the Third Team with junior Noah Larsen (Northborough, Mass.) and senior Jack Andrews (Cumberland, R.I.) collecting Honorable Mention honors.

The Hawks wrapped up the season with a 10-5 record, marking their third consecutive season with 10 wins and an appearance in the NCAA Division II Men's Lacrosse Championship. Saint Anselm won its second-ever game in the NCAA tournament with a 17-16 win over Mercy College on May 10 before falling by a 10-9 to Mercyhurst University on May 14.

Slattery, who is collecting First Team honors for the second consecutive season, was named the Northeast-10 Conference Defensive Player of the Year and to the All-Conference First Team. The senior also secured USILA All-North Region Defensive Player of the Year and First Team All-Region to go along with All-New England First Team plaudits from the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) this spring.

The co-captain led the Hawks with 18 caused turnovers this season and was tied for sixth on the squad with 31 ground ball pickups. The senior aided the Hawks to a 9.22 goals-against average, which ranked third in the conference. In 48 career games on the Hilltop, Slattery is second all-time with an average of 1.50 caused turnovers per game and is tied for second in program history with 72 career caused turnovers.

Harvey, a USA Lacrosse Magazine All-American Honorable Mention and a First Team selection to each of the NE10 All-Conference, NEILA All-New England, and USILA All-North Region rosters appeared in 15 games for the Hawks as a short-stick defensive midfielder. Harvey netted two goals and an added one assist for three points. The senior scooped up 29 ground balls and caused seven turnovers in 2023. The senior collected his first career NE10 Defensive Player of the Week award in March.

The Franklin, Mass. native has netted four goals and added four assists for eight points in 44 career games for the Hawks. Harvey has scooped up 64 ground balls and caused 23 turnovers in his time on the Hilltop.

Nick Larsen, who was a Third Team honoree following the 2022 season, has scored 11 goals and assisted on 12 others for 23, which ranked fifth on the squad in 12 games played as a junior. The NE10 All-Conference Second Team, USA Lacrosse Magazine All-American Honorable Mention, NEILA All-New England First Team, and USILA All-North Region Second Team honoree put 27 shots on goal and collected 16 ground balls from the midfield for Saint Anselm this spring. In the contest against Mercyhurst, Larsen reached his 100th career point and sits on 101 through his junior season.

In 41 career games, Larsen has scored 39 goals while collecting an assist on 62 others for his 101 points, which is tied for 23rd most in a single career. The junior ranks seventh in team history in career assists and is fifth in assists per game at 1.51.

Noah Larsen was one of two Hawks with 40 or more points this season, totaling 41 on 22 goals and 19 assists, all of which are career-highs. The junior was second on the team in goals while leading in assists. The NE10 All-Conference First Team, NEILA All-New England First Team, and USILA All-North Region Second Team selection started in all 15 games as an attack in 2023. Larsen put 47 shots on goal and was credited with one game-winning goal while scooping up 27 ground balls. The junior eclipsed 100-career points at Mercy in the NCAA Division II Men's Lacrosse Championship First Round game.

Larsen has appeared in 42 games in a Hawks uniform and has scored 58 goals and assisted on 48 others for 106 career points. Larsen is tied for 19th in career points and is tied for 25th in goals scored. His 48 assists rank 10th in program history.

Andrews, the Hawks leader in goals with 41 and in points with 45, collected All-Conference Third Team, NEILA All-New England Second Team, and USILA All-North Region Third Team honors this season. The senior has added four assists to reach his 45 points mark. Andrews appeared in all 15 games in 2023 and led the Hawks with 75 shots on goal with four game-winning tallies and eight man-up goals. Andrews reached both the 100 career points and goals marks this season. He eclipsed the points mark in the season-opener against Saint Rose and surpassed 100 career goals at Pace on Apr. 19.

The senior ranks ninth in program history with 142 career points and is sixth in team annals with 119 career goals. Andrews' average of 2.43 goals per game is third highest in the men's lacrosse team history. In 49 games, Andrews has netted 21 man-up goals which is tied for most in a career.
