MANSFIELD, Mass. – Seniors Andrew Andary (Macomb, Mich.) and Maggie Malloy (Canton, Mass.) were nominated for the Northeast-10 Conference Man and Woman of the Year awards on Tuesday.

Andary, a Criminal Justice major at Saint Anselm, was a co-captain for the men's ice hockey program in 2022-23 while Malloy, a Behavioral Neuroscience major, was an integral part in the Hawks field hockey program last fall.

Each nominee is a senior student-athlete that has excelled in all areas of their collegiate careers – on the playing surface, in the classroom, and in the community. The two winners are set to be announced at the NE10 Banquet hosted by Pace University on the night of Sunday, June 4.

Andary collected NE10 All-Conference Second Team honors following his senior season, which saw him score 14 goals and assist on 11 others for 25 points in 26 games played. The senior collected the Saint Anselm Athletics Charles J. Quinn Male Sportsmanship Award at the annual End of Year Highlights & Awards Presentation. Andary was also named to the NE10 All-Tournament Team this season.

The senior co-captain led the Hawks in goals while ranking second in points. Andary skated to a plus-11 on-ice rating while being credited with three power play goals and two game-winning scores. In his last nine games played of the season, Andary scored eight goals and assisted on three others for 11 points including a one goal, two assist effort in a 5-0 win over Franklin Pierce in the NE10 Semifinals on Feb. 25.

Andary aided the Hawks to a program record 21 wins and the program's 11th NE10 Men's Ice Hockey Championship. Saint Anselm posted a record of 21-10-3 in 2022-23 and won the Terry Moran Invitational which was the first mid-season tournament win for the program since the 2016-17 campaign.

Malloy, the National Field Hockey Coaches Association East Region Player of the Year, a NFHCA and Synapse Sports First Team All-America honoree, the NE10 Player of the Year, and an NE10 Academic All-Conference selection, became the first student-athlete in program history to collect the NE10 Player of the Year honors. Malloy's historic season saw her lead the conference in points per game (2.14) and goals per game (0.90) with four hat tricks in 21 games played in 2022.

Recording 19 goals with seven assists for 45 points, Malloy has established new single-season program records in point scoring (45), goal scoring (10), goals per game (0.90), and shots on goal (72). Malloy produced five game-winning goals this past season, including the only goal in her team's 1-0 victory over Pace on Sept. 24. She also logged three game-winning goals in the span of four games from Oct. 1 through Oct. 8.

Malloy helped Saint Anselm to a 14-5 overall record and another trip to the NCAA Division II postseason. The Hawks also made it to the semifinals round of the NE10 postseason in 2022.
