MANSFIELD, Mass. – A pair of Saint Anselm College student-athletes earned placement on the Winter 2022-23 Academic All-Conference roster, announced by the Northeast-10 Conference on Wednesday.
Senior
Macy Spinks (Luton, England) of the Saint Anselm women's basketball team and junior
Alec Grace (Laguna Hills, Calif.) of the Hawks men's ice hockey team represented the College on the list.
To be eligible for selection to the NE10 Academic All-Conference teams, a student-athlete must have started at least half or played in at least two-thirds of the team's competitions as a significant contributor and achieved at least a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average (4.0 scale).
Spinks, an English Literature major, was the lone Saint Anselm student-athlete to start and appear in all 27 games in 2022-23. The senior averaged 30.3 minutes per game, posting an average of 4.6 points per game. Spinks shot 34.7% (43-124) from the floor including 35.1% (26-74) from beyond the arc. The senior pulled down total of 45 rebounds, good for an average of 1.7 per game and dished out a total of 53 assists, which were second most on the squad.
Grace netted six goals and added seven assists for 13 points, all of which are career-highs. The Computer Science and Cyber Criminology major with a minor in Data Analytics skated in 33 of 34 games this season, aiding the Hawks to their 11th NE10 Championship in 2022-23. Grace posted a plus-one on-ice rating and put 72 shots on goal this season. The junior was credited with two power play goals and seven blocked shots.
This is the first NE10 Academic All-Conference honor for both student-athletes.
