PREVIEW: No. 19 women's lacrosse set for pair of games against No. 7 Le Moyne, No. 2 Pace

MANCHESTER, N.H. – The nationally-ranked Saint Anselm College women's lacrosse team battles a pair of national top-10 programs on Wednesday, Apr. 12 and Saturday, Apr. 15.

The Hawks will host Le Moyne College on Wednesday in the team's Morgan's Message Game before making the trip to Pace University on Saturday.

The Hawks overcame an early three-goal deficit at nationally-ranked Assumption to take the road contest by a 17-6 score in Northeast-10 Conference play on Apr. 5. With the win, Saint Anselm improved to 9-1 on the season with a 5-1 record in conference play. After battling the Setters, the Hawks will head to Franklin Pierce University on Tuesday, Apr. 18.

The Dolphins collected their fourth-consecutive win on Apr. 8 as they downed Assumption by a 14-10 score. The team sits at 9-2 overall with a 5-1 mark against the NE10. Following the trip to the Hilltop, Le Moyne will host No. 9 Adelphi University on Saturday, Apr. 15 in Syracuse, N.Y.

The Setters extended their winning streak to eight games with a 21-7 win against No. 14 Bentley on Apr. 8. With the win, Pace improved to 10-1 overall and remained unbeaten in conference play at 7-0. The team will head to American International College on Tuesday, Apr. 18 following their third consecutive home game.

HAWKS NOTES
  • The Hawks moved up to No. 19 in the most recent ILWomen/IWLCA Division II Women's Lacrosse National Poll following the win over the Greyhounds. The No. 19 spot in the highest of the season to date for Saint Anselm.
  • Senior Taylor Cobain (East Greenwich, R.I.) leads the Hawks offense with 47 points on 22 goals and a team-high 25 assists. Cobain is tied for third in the conference in assists.
  • In 46 career games, Cobain has scored 91 goals and assisted on 42 others for 133 career points. Cobain ranks 13th in program history in both goals and points while sitting in a tie for 12th in assists.
  • Junior Jess Sullivan (Wrentham, Mass.) ranks second on the team in goals (29), assists (17), and points (46).
  • Senior Lexi Palmisano (Woburn, Mass.) leads the Hawks and ranks 10th in the NE10 with 30 goals scored. Palmisano has added nine assists to bring her to 39 points on the season.
  • Junior Alison Ferullo (North Andover, Mass.) has scored 27 goals which is third most on the roster.
  • Junior Erin Doyle (Weymouth, Mass.) leads the Hawks with 24 ground ball pickups and in caused turnovers with 13. Doyle is second on the squad in draw controls at 44, trailing Palmisano's 57 this season.
  • Palmisano ranks fourth in program history in draw controls at 168. She can move into third all-time with seven more and can take over second with nine.
  • Three-time NE10 Goalkeeper of the Week, sophomore Elizabeth Driscoll (Marblehead, Mass.) has started in all 10 games for the Hawks. Driscoll owns a league-best 6.55 goals-against average and a 0.600 save percentage. Her 90 saves this season are tied for fourth in the NE10.
SCOUTING LE MOYNE
  • The Dolphins are ranked No. 7 in Monday's edition of the ILWomen/IWLCA Division II Women's Lacrosse National Poll.
  • Jessica Meneilly is tied for fourth in the conference with 37 goals scored this season. Meneilly has added three assists and sits at 40 points through 11 games.
  • Sara Goodwin ranks second on the team in goals at 35 while leading in assists and points with 16 and 51.
  • Four other Dolphins have double figure goal totals including Gemma Addonizio who is third on the team in points at 30. Addonizio has scored 16 goals and assisted on 14 others this season.
  • Taylor Reich leads the Le Moyne ground ball efforts with 28 while Savannah Fish leads the team with 22 caused turnovers. Adrianna Nojaim has scooped up a team-high 26 draw controls.
  • Paige Crandall has started in 10 of 11 games for Le Moyne from the cage. She owns an 8.06 goals-against average and a 0.496 save percentage with a total of 66 saves.
SCOUTING PACE
  • The Setters are No. 2 in the most recent ILWomen/IWLCA Division II Women's Lacrosse National Poll.
  • Aleya Corretjer, the conference's Player of the Week, leads the NE10 with 61 points, coming from 31 goals and 30 assists.
  • Emma Rafferty is second on the team at 52 points. Rafferty has scored 43 goals and assisted on nine others.
  • Jolie Urraro, Angelina Porcello, and Kayla Conway all have 24 or more goals scored this season. Porcello was named the NE10's Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.
  • Porcello has scooped up a team-high 34 ground balls, caused 28 turnovers, and claimed 80 draw controls, all of which are first or second in the conference.
  • Samantha Tanguay has started in eight of 11 games for the Setters. Tanguay owns a 7.70 goals-against average and a 0.440 save percentage. Tanguay is second in the conference in goals-against average.
ALL-TIME vs. LE MOYNE, PACE
  • This will be the 12th meeting all-time between the Hawks and Dolphins. Le Moyne has won each of the previous 11 matchups.
  • The programs last met on Apr. 13, 2022 from Syracuse, N.Y. The contest went to Le Moyne by a 19-6 score.
  • Pace and Saint Anselm will be meeting for the seventh time in the all-time series. The Setters have won five of the six previous contests.
  • The Setters grabbed a 19-14 win from Grappone Stadium on Apr. 16, 2022, marking the most recent meeting between the two sides.
