The Hawks improved to 7-0 on the season and 3-0 in Northeast-10 Conference play with a 17-7 win over American International on Mar. 25. Following the pair of games against the nationally-ranked opponents, Saint Anselm will head to Assumption University on Wednesday, Apr. 5.
The Penmen doubled up Franklin Pierce University on Mar. 25 by an 18-9 score. With the win, the team improved to 6-1 on the season with a 2-1 mark in conference play. The team hosts No. 2 ranked Pace University on Saturday, Apr. 1 following the trip to the Hilltop.
The Panthers won their fifth consecutive contest on Mar. 25 as they downed Assumption, 10-9 in overtime. The team is now 5-2 overall and 3-0 in league games. Adelphi will head to Southern Connecticut State University on Tuesday, Apr. 4 after hosting the Hawks.
HAWKS NOTES
- The Hawks moved up to No. 22 in the most recent ILWomen/IWLCA Division II Poll, following the win over the Yellow Jackets.
- The win marks the seventh consecutive to start the season for Saint Anselm which is the second longest streak in program history. Only the 2014 squad has won more games consecutively to open a season as they posted eight in the 2014 campaign.
- Senior Taylor Cobain (East Greenwich, R.I.) leads the Hawks roster in both assists (20) and points (36). Cobain is second in the conference in assists while ranking fourth in points.
- Senior Lexi Palmisano (Woburn, Mass.) has scored a team-high 24 goals this season and is third on the roster with eight assists, totaling 32 points which is tied for second on the team.
- Junior Jess Sullivan (Wrentham, Mass.) is third on the team in goals (20), second in assists (12), and is tied with Palmisano for second on the squad in points.
- Junior Alison Ferullo (North Andover, Mass.) is second on the Hawks roster with 21 goals and is fourth in points at 22.
- Junior Erin Doyle (Weymouth, Mass.) leads the Hawks with 19 ground balls in 2023. Doyle is tied with Palmisano for the team lead with 12 caused turnovers.
- Palmisano and Doyle have collected 31 and 29 draw controls apiece this season, which are first and second on the squad. Senior Meghan Cotraro (Beverly, Mass.) is third with 13 draw controls.
- Sophomore Elizabeth Driscoll (Marblehead, Mass.) leads the NE10 in save percentage at 0.618 and in goals-against average at 4.70. She has allowed a league low 29 goals while making 47 saves this season.
SCOUTING SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE
- The Penmen moved into the ILWomen/IWLCA Division II Poll on Monday, slotting into the No. 24 spot.
- Angelina Graziano leads the NE10 with 45 points this season. Graziano is tied for second in the conference with 26 goals and is third in the NE10 with 19 helpers.
- Shelby Cole leads the conference with 32 goals this season. Cole is second in points with 44 as she has added 12 assists this season.
- Skylar Renaud is third on the team in goals (24) and in points (30). Katie Crowther has posted 13 assists this season which are second most on the roster.
- Renaud has collected a team-high 17 ground balls and is tied with Courtney Cronin for the team lead with nine caused turnovers.
- Alexis DeLucia has scooped up 44 draw controls this season, which is third-highest in the conference.
- Megan Petko owns an 8.96 goals-against average and a 0.500 save percentage in seven starts this season. Petko has totaled 51 saves in her time in the cage.
SCOUTING ADELPHI
- The Panthers are ranked ninth in Monday's ILWomen/IWLCA Division II poll.
- Izzy Grant and Danielle Marino are first and second on the roster in goals and points. Grant has scored 13 goals and added five assists for 18 points.
- Marino has found the back of the cage 10 times and assisted on four others for 14 points.
- Rita Sefransky leads the Panthers with six assists in 2023. Sefransky has added three goals to her six assists for nine points.
- Alexandrea Beebe leads the Panthers in both ground balls and caused turnovers. Beebe has scooped up 18 ground balls and caused 12 turnovers.
- Grant and Sefransky rank first and second on the team in draw controls, collecting 32 and 15 each, respectively.
- Madison Marchetta has started all seven games for the Panthers in the goal this season. Marchetta owns a 0.447 save percentage and a 7.80 goals-against average.
ALL-TIME vs. SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE, ADELPHI
- The Hawks and Penmen have battled 19 times all-time in women's lacrosse. Saint Anselm owns an 11-8 record against Southern New Hampshire.
- Saint Anselm grabbed a 15-14 win in the last meeting between the two programs on Mar. 30, 2022. The Hawks have won four of the last five games and each of the last three against the Penmen.
- Adelphi has won 17-of-18 all-times matchups with Saint Anselm in women's lacrosse.
- The Panthers grabbed a 12-8 win over the Hawks in the most recent meeting, which came from Grappone Stadium on Apr. 2, 2022.
