The Hawks, who moved up to No. 23 in the most recent ILWomen/IWLCA Division II National Poll, secured a 15-8 win over Southern Connecticut State on Mar. 11, improving the team to 5-0 overall and 2-0 in Northeast-10 Conference play. The Hawks will play at home for the first time since Feb. 21 on Saturday, Mar. 25 in an NE10 battle with American International.
The Golden Falcons fell to Young Harris in their most recent meeting, coming on Mar. 6. The team dropped to 0-4 on the season with the loss. Charleston will battle Ashland on Friday, Mar. 24 following the neutral site game with the Hawks.
HAWKS NOTES
- Senior Taylor Cobain (East Greenwich, R.I.) leads the Hawks with 27 points on 11 goals and 16 assists. The senior leads the squad in points and assists. Cobain ranks second in the NE10 in assists and fourth in points.
- Senior Lexi Palmisano (Woburn, Mass.) and junior Jess Sullivan (Wrentham, Mass.) both eclipsed the 100-career points mark in the win over Southern Connecticut State.
- Palmisano leads the squad with 17 goals which are third most in the NE10. Sullivan and junior Alison Ferullo (North Andover, Mass.) are tied for second on the squad with 15 goals apiece.
- Junior Erin Doyle (Weymouth, Mass) leads the Hawks with 12 ground balls while Ferullo follows closely with 10.
- Doyle and Palmisano are tied for the team lead with 18 draw controls each. Doyle's 11 caused turnovers are tied for second in the conference.
- Saint Anselm holds a 66-56 advantage in draw controls and has caused 59 turnovers against its opponents this season which is the second most in the league.
- The most recent NE10 Goalkeeper of the Week, sophomore Elizabeth Driscoll (Marblehead, Mass.) leads the conference with a 0.621 save percentage and a 4.81 goals-against average. Driscoll has made 36 saves this season, which ranks sixth in the NE10.
SCOUTING CHARLESTON
- Tess Yuhas, Destiny Jackson, and Darby Stolz are tied for the Golden Falcons lead with nine goals each. Yuhas has a team-high 12 points with Jackson and Stolz following closely at 10 and nine each respectively.
- Gianni Blundell is tied with Stolz for third on the roster at nine points. Blundell has assisted on a team-high five goals and has netted four.
- Blundell is one of five student-athletes with double digit ground balls this season and has a team-high 12.
- Madison Sobolewski has caused eight turnovers, which leads the Golden Falcons while Madison Partridge has scooped up 11 draw controls.
- Georgia Ryan and Megan Liston have started two games apiece in the cage for Charleston. Ryan owns an 11.71 goals-against average and a .455 save percentage while Liston has a 14.00 goals-against average with a .417 save percentage.
ALL-TIME vs. CHARLESTON
- This will be the first meeting in women's lacrosse all-time between the Hawks and Golden Falcons.
