MANCHESTER, N.H. – Senior Ryan Slattery (North Andover, Mass.) was selected as a First Team Preseason All-America pick by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association earlier this week.
A four-year member of the Hawks roster, Slattery becomes a three-time Preseason All-America selection for the second consecutive season, having earned honors from USA Lacrosse Magazine, Inside Lacrosse and the USILA.
Last season, Slattery earned North Region Defensive Player of the Year honors from the USILA as well as the NE10's Defensive Player of the Year after leading the squad with 26 caused turnovers, averaging 1.56 per game.
Adding 40 ground balls for Saint Anselm, Slattery's 1.58 career caused turnovers per game (min. 20 games) is tops in team history.
Saint Anselm is set to open its season at home against Bentley on Saturday, Mar. 11 in non-conference play. The complete schedule of games for the Hawks will be released in the coming weeks.
