MANCHESTER, N.H. – The second-seeded Saint Anselm College women's ice hockey team is set to host the seventh-seed Saint Michael's College in the First Round of the New England Women's Hockey Alliance postseason tournament, starting on Friday, Feb. 24.
The programs will meet in a three-game series from Sullivan Arena. The opening game is set for a 4 p.m. start on Friday while game two will start at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25. An if necessary game three is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 26, also with a 1 p.m. start.
Tickets will be available upon entry to the Sullivan Arena. Prices for the tickets will be $5 for students with college ID, senior citizens, and children. Tickets for adults will be $10.

The Hawks closed the regular season with a weekend sweep of Post University, grabbing a 7-1 win on Friday before capturing a 10-0 win on Senior Day the following afternoon. Saint Anselm totaled 32 points in the NEWHA standings which gave them the second seed for the postseason.
The Purple Knights fell in overtime on Feb. 17 to Sacred Heart, 4-3 and then closed the regular season with a scoreless tie on Feb. 18. The team collected six points in the NEWHA standings throughout the season which gave them the seventh seed.
The winner of the three-game series will advance to play in the NEWHA Semifinals which will take place on Wednesday, Mar. 1. One Semifinal game will be hosted by the league's top-seed, Long Island University, while the other will be hosted by the highest-remaining seed following the First Round. The NEWHA Championship game is slated for Saturday, Mar. 4.
The NEWHA postseason tournament winner will earn the first automatic qualifier in league history to the National Collegiate Women's Ice Hockey Championship.
HAWKS NOTES
- After registering seven points of offense, coming from three goals and four assists, junior Natalie Tulchinsky (Clifton Park, N.Y.) was named the NEWHA Player of the Week.
- On the season, Tulchinsky ranks third in the league with 37 points while sitting in a tie for second in goals (18) and second in assists (19). The junior's 37 points are tied for 10th all-time in a single season in program history.
- Senior Gabrielle Huson (Edina, Minn.) claimed the NEWHA Defensive Player of the Week after scoring one goal and adding two assists for three points, leading to a plus-10 on-ice rating. The senior aided the Hawks defense, which allowed just one goal on 38 shots against the Eagles to conclude the regular season.
- Graduate student Kelly Golini (Tewksbury, Mass.) is tied for the NEWHA lead with 41 points this season. The co-captain ranks fourth in the league at 17 goals while leading with 24 assists. Golini is just the sixth student-athlete to reach 40 points in a single season in program history and can take over the top spot with three points.
- In a career, Golini sits on 118 points which is tied for fourth most all-time. Golini can match Kathleen Twomey '09, a member of the newest class inducted to the Saint Anselm Athletics Hall of Fame, with six points.
- Sophomore Tyra Turner (Andover, Minn.) is fourth in the NEWHA in points (36), tied for second in goals (18), and tied for third in assists (18). Turner has set career-highs in all three categories this season.
- Sophomore Audrey Jackson (Shoreview, Minn.) is tied for third in the league with 18 assists. Jackson has added 10 goals, bringing her to 28 points on the season which is tied for fifth most in the NEWHA.
- Saint Anselm has had two student-athletes with 40 or more points in a single season just once, coming in the 2012-13 campaign. With three points and four points respectively, Tulchinsky and Turner can reach the 40-point threshold this season which would put the Hawks at three with 40 or more this season.
- Senior goaltender Allie Kelley (East Berne, N.Y.) broke her own program record for single-season saves in the win over Post on Feb. 18. Kelley sits at 1,046 stops this season which are the most in National Collegiate level. Kelley also owns a 3.10 goals-against average and a 0.913 save percentage in 32 starts this season.
- The Saint Anselm power play is operating at 16.4%, having scored 21 goals in 128 power play chances. The penalty kill, which ranks fourth in the league, has a 79.7% penalty kill percentage after allowing 27 goals in 133 times shorthanded.
SCOUTING SAINT MICHAEL'S
- Mickaela Langbacka and Mary Leys are tied for the top spot on the Purple Knights roster with 10 points apiece.
- Langbacka has four goals, which are second on the roster while her six assists are third best on the team. Leys is tied for the team lead with seven assists and has netted three goals this season.
- Grace Canterbury, Jenna Harrison, and Angelina Ruiz all have eight points this season. Canterbury is tied for the Purple Knights lead with seven assists while Ruiz is the team leader at six goals. Harrison has found the twine three times while assisting on five others.
- Carissa Mudrak has started 19 in games this season for Saint Michael's. Mudrak has a 3.10 goals-against average and a 0.935 save percentage, which is second in the NEWHA.
- Annika Lavender claimed the NEWHA Rookie of the Week honors after making 43 saves in a 0-0 tie to conclude the regular season.
- Saint Michael's has scored seven goals in 89 power plays, good for a 7.9% conversion rate. The team has a penalty kill percentage of 78.0%, after allowing 22 goals in 100 times shorthanded.
ALL-TIME, NEWHA POSTSEASON
- Saint Anselm has qualified for each of the four NEWHA Championship games in league history, the only program to accomplish that feat.
- The Hawks captured the league crown in the 2018-19 season, marking their lone NEWHA title.
- The women's ice hockey program is 7-3-0 all-time in the NEWHA postseason. Saint Anselm will be making its fifth consecutive appearance in the league postseason.
ALL-TIME vs. SAINT MICHAEL'S
- The Hawks and Purple Knights have met 53 times in the all-time series. Saint Anselm enjoys a 50-0-3 record against Saint Michael's in women's ice hockey.
- This season, the Hawks posted a 3-0-1 record against the Purple Knights. Saint Anselm claimed a pair of 4-2 wins on Nov. 18 and Nov. 19, both from South Burlington, Vt. The squads skated to a 1-1 tie on Feb. 3 before the Hawks registered a 5-4 win the following day.
- This season's meetings in the postseason mark the third season in the last five in which the two programs have met in the NEWHA tournament. The Hawks hold a 2-0-0 record against the Purple Knights in the postseason, last meeting on Mar. 1, 2022 which went to the Hawks by a 2-1 score.
