Both teams exchanged shots with Carroll making another four stops and a junior Chase Reynolds (Middletown, Conn.) producing a block approaching the midway point of the period.
- At the 13:11 mark, senior Will Christensen (Ridgefield, Conn.) redirected a shot saved by Murphy in front of the net to give Saint Anselm the 2-1 edge.
