Junior Leonard Brochu III (Concord, N.H.) netted his second goal of the season in the second period.

For the second consecutive game, Howard posted 40 or more saves and now has three games this season with 40 or more stops.

The win for the Hawks marks the first road win over Assumption since Jan. 31, 2017, snapping a seven-game winless streak in Worcester, Mass.

Lyons opened the scoring at 15:42 of the first period. Freshman Luke Linart (Holland, Mich.) got the play started with a blocked shot and slid a pass to Reynolds. Reynolds and Lyons worked a give-and-go through the neutral zone with Reynolds sending a pass into the slot for Lyons to redirect by the Greyhounds netminder Drew Benedict.

The Hawks pushed their lead to 2-0 on a goal by Brochu III. Reynolds won an offensive zone faceoff back to Brochu III who sent a wrist shot through traffic and into the twine at 8:14 of the second period.

Assumption got on the scoreboard just 14 seconds later when Mike D'Ambrosio found the back of the goal with a point shot to cut the Saint Anselm lead to one at 2-1.

Lyons reestablished the Hawks two-goal lead at 16:02 of the middle frame. Sophomore Luke Mix (Winchester, Mass.) sent a stretch pass through the neutral zone for Lyons who drove into goal and fired a shot into the upper left of the net, giving the Hawks a 3-1 edge through 40 minutes of play.

Hayes netted his seventh goal of the season midway through the third frame. Hayes forced a turnover at the Assumption blue line and snapped a shot from the left faceoff circle into the upper left of the goal.
