The Hawks fell to No. 18 Assumption University on Tuesday, Apr. 5 by a 16-9 score. With the loss, Saint Anselm suffers its second consecutive defeat and falls to 6-3 on the season and 4-2 in the NE10. The Hawks were scheduled to play Stonehill College on Saturday, Apr. 9 but that contest was postponed. After heading to Syracuse, N.Y., the Hawks will host No. 12 Pace University from Grappone Stadium on Saturday, Apr. 16.
The Dolphins have posted three consecutive wins in conference play since falling to New Haven on Mar. 30. On Apr. 9, Le Moyne posted a 16-9 win over Assumption which brings them to 8-3 on the season and 5-2 in conference contests. After hosting the Hawks, the Dolphins head to Adelphi University on Saturday Apr. 16.
SCOUTING SAINT ANSELM
- Senior Jenna Balboni (Billerica, Mass.) led all student-athletes five goals in the loss to Assumption, bringing her career total to 97. With three goals, Balboni will become the 10th student-athlete to reach 100 goals in a career on the Hilltop.
- On the season, Balboni is second on the Hawks in goals scored with 23 and is tied for second with 34 points.
- Senior Annie Richards (Reading, Mass.) netted one assist against the Greyhounds, bringing her career points total to 128 which ties Beth Millian '08 for 11th most all-time. Richards also needs just nine assists to be the first Hawks student-athlete to reach 100 career assists.
- Richards ranks second in the NE10 in assists with 24 which also leads the Hawks. The senior has 25 points this season which is fourth most on the squad.
- Junior Lexi Palmisano (Woburn, Mass.) is tied for fourth in the conference in goals with 34 and is tied for second on the team in points with 34.
- Sophomore Jess Sullivan (Wrentham, Mass.) leads the Hawks with 35 points, coming from 20 goals and 15 assists.
- Senior Grace Young (Merrimack, N.H.) has started all nine games in the cage for Saint Anselm. Young has a 10.15 goals-against average and a .494 save percentage. The senior has made 85 saves this season which ranks third in the NE10. Young ranks second in the conference in save percentage and is sixth in goals against average.
- Palmisano and senior McKenzie Robinson (Mont Vernon, N.H.) lead the Hawks with 36 and 34 draw controls each. Palmisano is tied with sophomore Erin Doyle (Weymouth, Mass.) for the team lead with nine caused turnovers while Young leads the squad with 32 ground balls with Robinson ranking second with 16.
SCOUTING LE MOYNE
- Sydney Meagher and Gemma Addonizio led the Dolphins in their win over the Greyhounds as Meagher led all student-athletes with four goals while Addonizio posted a game-high five points on three goals and two assists.
- Jessica Meneilly leads the NE10 in goals with 39. She has added two assists, bringing her points total to 41 which is second most on the Dolphins and is tied for ninth in the conference.
- Erin McMullen leads Le Moyne with 42 points, stemming from 31 goals and 11 assists. Her point total is tied for fifth in the conference.
- Addonizio is the Le Moyne team leader with 19 helpers this season and has scored 17 times which is tied for fourth most with Adrianna Nojaim. Meagher ranks third on the team with 18 goals.
- Paige Crandall has started all 11 games for Le Moyne this season. Crandall has a .402 save percentage and a 10.89 goals against average. Madison Fox has made four appearances in the cage for the Dolphins this season.
- McMullen has the fourth most draw controls in the conference this season with 63. Taylor Reich and Lilly Locastro are tied for the team lead with 11 caused turnovers each. Reich has also collected 30 ground balls which is a team high.
ALL-TIME vs. LE MOYNE
- This will be the 11th meeting all-time between the Hawks and Dolphins. Le Moyne is undefeated against Saint Anselm through the previous 10 matchups.
- The programs have not met since Apr. 6, 2019 which resulted in a 21-8 win for the Dolphins from Grappone Stadium.
- This will be the second meeting in program history with the Dolphins at the No. 10 ranking nationally. In the other nine contests, Le Moyne has been ranked No. 7 or below including a No. 1 ranking in the most recent matchup. The other meeting with the Dolphins at No. 10 came on Apr. 19, 2014, resulting in 10-9 win for Le Moyne.
