The Hawks, receiving votes in the National Association of Basketball Coaches' poll, most recently captured a 68-58 win over Stonehill on Saturday to improve to 13-5 overall on the year. Winners of nine out of 13 games in NE10 play, Saint Anselm has also captured eight wins in nine games played during this calendar year.
The Penmen fell at Assumption on Saturday by a 73-64 score, snapping a three-game win streak for Southern New Hampshire. The team is now 11-7 overall and 7-6 against the league. After hosting the Hawks, the Penmen travel to the University of New Haven on Thursday, Feb. 10.

SCOUTING SAINT ANSELM
- Senior Chris Paul (Highland Mills, N.Y.) netted 24 points in the win over Stonehill, moving into the top-10 all-time on the men's basketball career scoring list. He passes Kris Tardio '00 and now has 1,749 points in 110 career games for the Hawks.
- Paul is averaging 19.7 points per game, which is fourth-most in the NE10. He leads the conference with 98 made free throws on 137 attempts, good for a 71.5% rate. He has netted 354 points on the season, which is third most in the league.
- Senior Gustav Suhr-Jessen (Virum, Denmark) registered his second consecutive contest with a double-double, scoring 11 points and grabbing 11 boards against Stonehill for his 15th collegiate double-double.
- Junior Tyler Arbuckle (Bristol, Conn.) and senior Miles Tention (Palo Alto, Calif.) are second and third on the Hawks, averaging 14.3 and 13.1 points per game, while Suhr-Jessen is fourth with a scoring average of 9.9.
- Saint Anselm leads the NE10 in free throws attempted per game (19.5) and defensive rebounds per game (28.7). The team is second in free throws made per game (13.5) and ranks fourth in total rebounds per game (37.9) and assists per game (14.7).
- The Hawks are currently the second seed in the NE10's Northeast Division, trailing Bentley who is 10-3 in conference play.
SCOUTING SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE
- Corry Long led all players with 25 points in the Penmen loss to Assumption on Saturday. He was 11-for-18 from the field and was three-for-three from three-point land.
- Noah Kamba and Jordan Brathwaite chipped in double-digit point totals to aid the Southern New Hampshire offense versus the Greyhounds.
- Matt Becht and Aaron Gray lead the Penmen offense with 16.1 and 15.8 points per game. The duo ranks seventh and eighth, respectively, in the NE10. Jacari Sanders, Long, and Kamba are all averaging double-digit scoring per game for Southern New Hampshire.
- Gray is averaging 6.0 rebounds per game to lead the Penmen board presence. His per game average is the 15th best figure in the NE10.
- The Penmen have the third highest scoring average in the conference with 78.7 points per game. They also rank third in three-point percentage (37.8) and free throws made per game (13.2) while having the second-fewest turnovers per game average of 11.4.
- Southern New Hampshire is fourth in the Northeast Division standings with two games in hand over Stonehill. However, Franklin Pierce, who sits in third has played two fewer games than both the Hawks and Penmen.
ALL-TIME vs. SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE
- This will be the 75th meeting in the all-time series between the Hawks and Penmen. Saint Anselm holds a 39-35 edge in the series.
- The teams met on Nov. 23 at Stoutenburgh Gymnasium with Saint Anselm capturing a 74-66 victory over then No. 24 nationally-ranked and unbeaten Southern New Hampshire.
- Paul posted a season-high 29 points against SNHU while sophomore Matt Becker (Fairfield, Conn.) grabbed a game-high 11 boards.
- The Hawks are victorious in their last six meetings with the Penmen, dating back to Feb. 14, 2018. Saint Anselm is 8-1 in the last nine matchups.
