The Hawks are the second seed entering the NE10 playoffs after closing the regular season with a split of overtime games against Southern New Hampshire University, posting a 2-1 win on Feb. 18 before falling by a 3-2 score on Feb. 19. Saint Anselm is 13-11-2 on the season with a 10-6-2 mark against the NE10.
The Skyhawks are the seventh seed in the NE10 playoffs with a 6-18-2 record overall and 3-12-2 in the league. Stonehill dropped both parts of their home-and-home series to Assumption University on Feb. 23 and Feb. 25.
The winner of the second-seed and seventh-seed First Round game will meet the winner of the third-seed Assumption and the sixth-seed Franklin Pierce University in the NE10 Semifinals on Tuesday, Mar. 1.

Ticket prices for NE10 playoff games are set at $5 for all attendees with students from NE10 institutions admitted free of charge with a valid college identification card.
SCOUTING SAINT ANSELM
- The Hawks, who missed the NE10 postseason for the first time in 2019-20, have won 10 conference titles and finished as the runner-up seven times. The Hawks last won the conference crown in the 2017-18 season while their last title game appearance came in 2018-19. In the conference postseason, Saint Anselm is 27-11 all-time.
- Freshman Chase Reynolds (Middletown, Conn.) scored both Hawks goals in the 2-1 overtime win on Feb. 18, which earned him the NE10 Rookie of the Week honors for the first time in his career. Senior Trevor Hott (Idaho Falls, Idaho) and junior Andrew Andary (Macomb, Mich.) combined to give the Hawks a 2-0 edge in Saturday's 3-2 loss.
- Saint Anselm is led by Andary who has scored 17 goals and has 19 assists for 36 points. Andary ranks second in the conference in goals and assists while leading the NE10 in points. Andary is the first student-athlete since Coleman Noonan '11 in 2009-10 to reach 36 points in a single season. Noonan posted 47 during that campaign.
- Sophomore Tommy Schwartz (Ridgefield, Conn.) and junior Matt Hayes (Salem, N.H.) rank second and third on the Hawks in scoring. Schwartz has scored nine goals and assisted on 14 others for 23 points, which puts him in a tie for eighth in points in the conference. Hayes has netted nine goals and registered 12 assists, good for 21 points and 14th in the NE10.
- Junior goaltender Nick Howard (Burlington, Mass.) leads the NE10 in saves with 666 and in goals-against average at 2.62. He has the fourth-highest save percentage at .911. Howard's save total ranks fifth all-time in the men's ice hockey single season record book. He trails Colin Soucy '19 who finished the 2018-19 season with 681 saves, which is good for fourth.
- Saint Anselm is converting on the power play at 15.7% having scored 17 goals in 108 power play chances. The team is killing its penalties at 82.1% after allowing 22 goals in 123 times shorthanded. The Hawks have gone 910-804 from the faceoff dots this season, which is a win rate of 53.4%.
SCOUTING STONEHILL
- The Skyhawks, who are the most recent conference champions, have captured three conference titles and finished as the runner-up twice in five championship game appearances. The program is 15-17 all-time in NE10 postseason games.
- John Peloso and Brendan Nehmer are tied for the top spot on the team with 23 points each, which is tied for eighth in the conference. Peloso has netted 13 goals and added 10 assists while Nehmer has lit the lamp 12 times and assisted on 11 others.
- Nehmer and Charles Page are tied for the team lead in assists 11 each. Page has added six goals, bringing his point total to 17. Mike Seoane has scored nine goals and registered 10 assists for 19 points which is third highest on the squad.
- John Day holds a .905 save percentage and a 3.39 goals-against average on the season. He has stopped 408 shots in 13 starts. Gavin FitzPatrick and Chase McKay have drawn six starts each for the Skyhawks.
- Stonehill is operating on the power play at 16.8%, netting 23 goals on 137 power play chances. The Skyhawks are killing penalties at 78.9%, allowing 24 goals on 114 times shorthanded.
ALL-TIME vs. STONEHILL
- This will be the 42nd meeting between the Hawks and Skyhawks. Saint Anselm enjoys a 30-5-6 mark against Stonehill all-time.
- The Hawks posted a 1-0-2 record against the Skyhawks this season. The teams skated a to a 3-3 tie on Nov. 12 before Saint Anselm grabbed a 3-2 win the following day, both played at Sullivan Arena. On Feb. 1, the programs played to a 4-4 tie from Bridgewater, Mass.
- The two programs have not met in the NE10 Playoffs since the 2014-15 season. Saint Anselm posted a 3-1 win at Stonehill on Feb. 21, 2015 on its way to a ninth conference crown at the time.
- When playing at Sullivan Arena, the Hawks own a 22-3-2 record against the Skyhawks.
