The Hawks (6-3) have sprinted out to a 5-1 record in Northeast-10 Conference play and will tangle with Jefferson on Saturday at 1 p.m. before taking on Bridgeport on Monday at 3 p.m. Saint Anselm wraps up the calendar year on Saturday, Dec. 31 at Saint Michael's.

Saint Anselm has won four games in a row, including a 58-56 road victory at American International on Thursday, Dec. 8. The one blemish in league play came at Pace on Tuesday, Nov. 22 in a 74-47 defeat just prior to Thanksgiving.

Jefferson has matched Saint Anselm with a 6-3 record, coming into the contest on Saturday with a three-game winning streak and a 2-0 record against Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference opponents. Last time out, the Rams picked up a 75-71 win at Wilmington (Del.) on Tuesday, Dec. 6.

Bridgeport's Friday evening game at home against Bentley was postponed, meaning that the Purple Knights will bring a 5-5 overall record into play on Monday. The Purple Knights have posted three wins in four games against Northeast-10 opponents so far this season.

SCOUTING SAINT ANSELM

  • Thanks to a steal and score by junior Matt Becker (Fairfield, Conn.) with just over 10 seconds left in regulation time, Saint Anselm picked up a two-point victory on the road at American International College on Thursday, Dec. 8.
  • In the final four minutes of regulation time, just six combined points were scored. It was the Hawks, however, who scored last as a botched inbounds play by American International with the score tied at 56 was picked off by Becker and carried up the floor for the game-winning basket with 10 seconds left.
  • Becker finished with 13 points, hauling in 11 rebounds and dishing out six assists in the well-rounded effort. Senior Owen McGlashan (Marlton, N.J.) scored a game-high 17 points with eight rebounds to his credit as the Hawks controlled the glass, 39-to-26.
  • Senior Miles Tention (Palo Alto, Calif.) is his team's leading scorer with 16.8 points per game. He is also playing 37.3 minutes per tilt, on average, to rank ninth in NCAA Division II and second in the NE10. Tention's three-point field goal percentage (46.9%) is 25th nationally.
  • The Hawks are 3-0 at home this year and have won each of their last five games played at Stoutenburgh Gymnasium. Across the last 13 seasons at home under Head Coach Keith Dickson, Saint Anselm has won 147 of a possible 183 games for an 80.3% winning percentage.
  • Dickson has compiled a 687-356 (.659) record at Saint Anselm in 36 seasons since his promotion to Head Coach in 1986. Among active NCAA Division II coaches, Dickson ranks fifth in victories (687).

SCOUTING JEFFERSON

  • The Rams are in the midst of a streak where they are playing six out of seven games away from home. So far, Jefferson owns a 3-1 record and that includes a convincing 99-63 triumph over Chestnut Hill on Wednesday, Nov. 30.
  • Erik Timko is his team's leading scorer, notching 21.7 points per game to lead the CACC and rank 13th in all of NCAA Division II. He is making 84.4% of his free throws and shooting over 50% from the floor (69-for-136).
  • As a team, the Rams are shooting 47.3% from the floor to rank second in the CACC and in the top quarter of all NCAA Division II programs. Ahmed Barba-Bey helps to facilitate the Jefferson offense, racking up a 1.91 assist-to-turnover ratio to rank fourth in the CACC.
  • Antonin Kemkeng is hauling in 8.9 rebounds per game, including 2.33 per game on the offensive glass, to rank in the top-50 in the country.
  • Jimmy Reilly is in his first season leading the Jefferson program after taking over for legendary Head Coach Herb Magee in the offseason. Magee ended his 54-season career as the winningest NCAA Division II men's basketball coach of all-time, and second winningest across all divisions with 1,144 victories.
  • Jefferson is back in action Sunday, Dec. 18 at No. 12/18 Bentley.

  • Taj Chiles is the primary facilitator for Bridgeport, handing out 4.1 assists per game to lead the CACC in that metric. Matt Turner is the team's leading scorer, pouring home 14.5 points per contest to rank 12th in the league.
  • Malcolm Moye is averaging 1.4 blocks per game, checking in fifth in the CACC, and his 14 total blocks are third in the league. He also delivers 2.9 offensive boards per game alongside his teammate Ali Sumareh, whose 2.0 offensive caroms provide the Purple Knights with a potent rebounding duo.
