ALBANY, N.Y. – Senior Miles Tention (Palo Alto, Calif.) scored 14 of his 18 points in the second half, propelling the Saint Anselm College men's basketball team to a 66-59 road win at the College of Saint Rose.

The Hawks pulled away late in the second half, improving to 3-0 in the Northeast-10 Conference and move to 4-3 overall. Saint Rose remains winless in its first three league games, evening its overall record at 4-4 with the result on Wednesday.

Tention also handed out a game-high four assists for the Hawks in the winning effort. Senior Owen McGlashan (Marlton, N.J.) produced a double-double with 13 points and rebounds while junior Matt Becker (Fairfield, Conn.) pulled down eight boards and added 10 points of his own. For McGlashan, he hauled in a career-high with 13 rebounds.

With the score tied at 18 in the first half, a pull-up triple by sophomore Keith Robinson (Phillip Island, Australia) sparked an 8-4 scoring spurt that fueled a two-point lead, 28-26, at the break. Neither team shot north of 32.3% in the opener and both teams had matching rebound totals (21), but the Hawks maintained a narrow advantage.

Saint Rose took a brief 28-26 lead less than 30 seconds into the second half, but the Hawks responded with eight of the game's next 10 points as Zac Taylor (Victoria, Australia) scored six of those points for his team. Saint Rose added an 8-2 run of its own, tying the game at 40 with 10:06 left in regulation time.

The game was put out of reach by the Hawks over the next five-plus minutes as the visitors scored 12 of the tilt's next 14 points to capture a double-digit lead, 52-42, with 5:29 to go. In the final 10 minutes of regulation, the Hawks were 8-for-13 from the floor and did not commit a turnover.

The Hawks outshot Saint Rose by a 42.1%-to-36.9% margin in the victory and went to the line 23 times – the hosts were sent to the charity stripe just eight times.
