PREVIEW: Women's ice hockey concludes fall semester at Post

MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College women's ice hockey team concludes its fall semester on Tuesday, Nov. 29 at Post University in New England Women's Hockey Alliance play.

The Hawks skated to a weekend split against Dartmouth College, falling by a 2-1 score on Nov. 26 before netting a 2-0 win on Nov. 27. Saint Anselm enters the fall semester finale with a 10-9-1 overall record and a 9-3-1 mark against NEWHA opponents. The Hawks will be back in action on Saturday, Dec. 31 for a 5 p.m. non-conference tilt against Merrimack College from Sullivan Arena.

The Eagles dropped a pair of contests to Syracuse University on Nov. 25 and Nov. 26, dropping them to 1-13-0 on the season. Post, who is 1-8-0 in league play, will head to Franklin Pierce University for a pair of NEWHA games on Friday, Dec. 2 and Saturday, Dec. 3.

HAWKS NOTES
  • Senior goaltender Allie Kelley (East Berne, N.Y.) set a Saint Anselm program record for the most saves in a shutout and in a win with 56 against Dartmouth on Nov. 27.
  • Between the pair of contests in the home-and-home series, Kelley turned aside 100 shots on goal and posted a 1.00 goals-against average with a 0.980 save percentage.
  • On the season, Kelley has made 625 saves which are the most in all of the National Collegiate level. She owns a 2.90 goals-against average and a 0.919 save percentage in 19 starts.
  • Graduate student Kelly Golini (Tewksbury, Mass.) netted her 50th career goal on Sunday, becoming just the sixth Saint Anselm student-athlete to reach that mark. Golini sits on 97 points for her career, needing just three to reach the 100-point club.
  • In 2022-23, Golini ranks second on the team and in the NEWHA with 20 points coming from 10 goals and 10 assists. She ranks third in the league in goals scored and is tied with junior Natalie Tulchinsky (Clifton Park, N.Y.) and sophomores Audrey Jackson (Shoreview, Minn.) and Tyra Turner (Andover, Minn.) for the NEWHA lead in assists.
  • Tulchinsky leads the NEWHA with 13 goals while sitting in a tie for first in assists with 10, bringing her to a league-high 23 points.
  • Turner and Jackson rank fourth and fifth in the NEWHA in points with 18 and 14 each respectively.
  • The Saint Anselm power play has netted 11 goals in 83 chances, good for a 13.3% conversion rate. The penalty kill has been shorthanded 86 times and has a penalty kill rate of 84.9%.
SCOUTING POST
  • Sheridan Terrazzano leads the Eagles roster with nine points, coming from four goals and five assists. Terrazzano is tied for the team lead in goals scored while leading in assists.
  • Kiersten Browning ranks second on the squad with seven points. Browning is tied with Terrazzano with four goals scored while sitting in a tie for second in assists with three.
  • Jenna Abeyta is third on the team with four points, three of which are assists. Madeline Noonan and Sajel Desai have netted two goals apiece for Post.
  • Grace Glasrud has started eight games in the goal for the Eagles. Glasrud has a 4.39 goals-against average and a 0.883 save percentage. Hannah Saunders has drawn six starts and holds a 6.00 goals-against average and a 0.867 save percentage.
  • The Eagles have netted five goals in 43 power play opportunities, good for an 11.6% rate with the extra skater. Post has a 64.7% penalty kill percentage as they have allowed 18 goals in 53 times shorthanded.
ALL-TIME vs. POST
  • This will be the 19th meeting in the all-time series between the Hawks and Eagles. Saint Anselm is undefeated against Post in women's ice hockey.
  • The programs are meeting for the second time in 2022-23. Saint Anselm grabbed a 4-0 win on Nov. 1, 2022 from Shelton, Conn. Golini, Tulchinsky, senior Devin Porazinski (Parker, Colo,), and sophomore Gracee Donovan (Orchard Park, N.Y.) netted one goal apiece in that contest.
  • Tuesday's meeting will be the fourth consecutive matchup in the series coming from the Sports Center of Connecticut.
