MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College men's ice hockey team will host Assumption University for its annual Pink in the Rink weekend on Friday, Nov. 11 and Saturday, Nov. 12.

The Saint Anselm ice hockey programs will be selling rally towels for $5 and chuck-a-pucks for $1 apiece during the three contests at Sullivan Arena, will supplies last. All proceeds will be donated to Cancer Research at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, N.H.

The Hawks split a weekend pair of Northeast-10 Conference games with Post University, suffering a 4-3 loss on Nov. 4 before grabbing a 3-1 win on Nov. 5. Saint Anselm enters play for Pink in the Rink weekend with a 3-1-0 record overall and a 2-1-0 record in conference games. Following the pair of tilts against the Greyhounds, Saint Anselm will head to Saint Michael's College on Friday, Nov. 18 and Saturday, Nov. 19.

The Greyhounds suffered a 4-1 loss to Franklin Pierce University on Nov. 4 before posting a 7-4 win the following night, improving to 2-2-0 overall and 1-1-0 in NE10 play. The team battles Post on Friday, Nov. 18 before hosts NCAA Division I Long Island University on Saturday, Nov. 19.

HAWKS NOTES

• Junior Will Christensen (Ridgefield, Conn.) leads the Hawks with six points. The junior has netted two goals and added four assists, which puts him in a tie for second in the conference in points.
• Senior Jack Murphy (Marshfield, Mass.) is tied with Christensen for the most assists on the roster. The duo is also tied for second in the NE10 in helpers.
• Senior Andrew Andary (Macomb, Mich.) leads the Saint Anselm offense with three goals. Andary is tied for second in the NE10 in goals scored.
• Senior Nick Howard (Burlington, Mass.) owns a 0.916 save percentage and a 2.74 goals-against average, both of which are top-five in the conference. He has totaled 120 saves through four games started in the 2022-23 season.
• Howard needs seven wins to tie the men's ice hockey program record for career wins at 37 which is currently held by Tom Gavin '75 and Jim Merola '05.
• The Hawks are tied for second in the conference with an average of 4.25 goals scored per game while allowing the second-lowest goals-against average at 2.73.
• The team is operating at 7.7% on the power play, converting on one of 13 chances with the extra skater. The team's penalty kill has allowed two goals on 27 times shorthanded, good for a kill percentage of 92.6%.

SCOUTING ASSUMPTION

• Colin Philippon leads the Greyhounds offense with six points, coming from two goals and a team-high four assists. He is tied with Christensen for second in the NE10 in points.
• Sean O'Connell, Michael Zampanti, and Ryan Decker are all tied for the Assumption lead with three goals each through the team's first four games.
• Drew Benedict has started three games in the goal for the Greyhounds. He is 2-1-0 with a 0.877 save percentage and a 4.30 goals-against average. Thomas McLarnon started the other contest for Assumption and has a 2.06 goals-against average and 0.941 save percentage.
• The Greyhounds are averaging 4.50 goals-per game which leads the NE10. Their 18 goals scored are also the most in the conference.
• 10 student-athletes have lit the lamp for Assumption while 13 student-athletes have at least one point.
• Assumption is tied for the conference lead with a 19.0% conversion rate on the power play. The team is killing penalties at 77.8%.

ALL-TIME vs. ASSUMPTION

• The Hawks and Greyhounds will be battling for the 46th and 47th times in the all-time series with Saint Anselm enjoying a 32-10-3 record against Assumption in men's ice hockey.
• The Greyhounds took two of three contests in the 2021-22 season. Assumption posted a pair of 2-1 wins on Jan. 11, 2022 and Feb. 4, 2022 before Saint Anselm grabbed a 6-2 win on Feb. 5, 2022.
• The Hawks win on Feb. 5, 2022 snapped a three-game losing skid against the Greyhounds.
