MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College men's ice hockey team fell to Albertus Magnus College in an exhibition contest by a 5-1 score on Saturday.
After falling behind on a pair of power play goals in the first period, senior co-captain
Andrew Andary (Macomb, Mich.) netted a cross crease pass from sophomore
Mark Blaney (Braintree, Mass.) to cut the deficit to 2-1 at 17:35 in the second period.
However, two more power play goals by Albertus Magnus and an empty netter pushed them to the 5-1 score.
The Falcons netted four power play goals in the exhibition in eight chances while the Hawks were one-for-eight with the extra skater.
Cameron Weitzman netted a pair of goals to lead the Albertus Magnus offense.
The Falcons held a slight 36-34 edge in shots on goal.

Joseph Giacobbo combined to stop 33 Hawks shots on goal while senior
Nick Howard (Burlington, Mass.) posted 31 stops for Saint Anselm.
Saint Anselm officially opens its 2022-23 campaign on Friday, Oct. 28 at crosstown rival Southern New Hampshire at 7:30 p.m. from the Ice Den Arena in Hooksett, N.H. The Hawks will host the University of Southern Maine on Saturday, Oct. 29 for their home opener, starting at 4 p.m. from Sullivan Arena.
