MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College men's ice hockey opens a three-game week on Tuesday, Feb. 1 at Stonehill College. The opening puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. from the Bridgewater Ice Arena.

The Hawks posted a pair of wins over Saint Michael's College on Jan. 28 and Jan. 29 by 4-3 and 6-2 scores. Saint Anselm improved to 8-9-1 on the season with a 5-4-1 mark against Northeast-10 Conference foes. After the trip to Stonehill, the Hawks play a home-and-home series against Assumption University on Friday, Feb. 4 and Saturday, Feb. 5. Friday's contest will be at Assumption while the Hawks will host on Saturday.
The Skyhawks fell to Franklin Pierce University on Jan. 28 by a 5-0 score. The teams were set to play again on Jan. 29 but that contest was postponed due to inclement weather. Stonehill is 5-10-1 on the season and 2-5-1 against the league. The team is scheduled to host Rivier University on Friday, Feb. 4 in its final non-conference contest of the season.

SCOUTING SAINT ANSELM
- The Hawks are winners of four of their last six contests and have won their last four NE10 contests. Saint Anselm currently sits in third in conference standing with a .550 winning percentage.
- Junior Matt Hayes (Salem, N.H.) found the back of the net with 19 seconds left in overtime in Friday's 4-3 win. The Hawks capitalized on the victory and powered their way to a 6-2 win on Saturday, taking the regular season series against the Purple Knights, two games to one. Hayes finished the weekend with three goals for the Hawks.
- Junior alternate captain Andrew Andary (Macomb, Mich.) scored two goals and assisted on five against Saint Michael's. He was named the NE10 Player of the Week for his efforts. Andary leads the conference in points (29) and assists (16) and is tied for the top spot in the league with 13 goals.
- Sophomore Tommy Schwartz (Ridgefield, Conn.) collected his second Rookie of the Week accolade on Monday after scoring twice and registering a helper on three other goals against the Purple Knights. Schwartz leads all NE10 rookies in goals (8) and points (17) while ranking second in assists (9).
- The Hawks received two strong performances in goal over the weekend as junior Nick Howard (Burlington, Mass.) grabbed his seventh and eighth wins of the season. He made 52 saves between the two contests, pushing his season total to 458 which is second most in the NE10. Howard ranks second in conference in goals-against average (2.89) and fourth in save percentage (.905).
- Saint Anselm netted three power play goals in the weekend series and have now potted 11 goals on 72 power play opportunities, converting at 15.3%. The Hawks have been shorthanded 88 times this season and have allowed 16 goals, killing off penalties at 81.8%.
SCOUTING STONEHILL
- The Skyhawks were blanked by Franklin Pierce in their last contest by a 5-0 score. The team sits in sixth in the NE10 standings with a .313 win percentage. Stonehill was selected to finish sixth in the conference's Preseason Coaches' Poll.
- Brendan Nehmer and John Peloso are tied for the team lead with seven goals each while Mike Seoane follows closely with five tallies.
- Nehmer has a team-high eight assists while Peloso and Seoane are tied for second with seven helpers each. Charles Page ranks fourth with six assists on the season. Nehmer, Peloso, Seoane, and Page are the only Skyhawks with double-digit point totals.
- John Day has drawn nine starts for Stonehill. He is 2-6-1 overall with a 3.31 goals-against average and a .903 save percentage. Gavin FitzPatrick and Chase McKay have split time in the other seven contests with McKay starting in four games while FitzPatrick has three.
- The Skyhawks have a 19.0% power play conversion rate, scoring 16 times on 84 chances. The team has allowed 11 goals on 69 times short-handed, good for an 84.1% kill rate.
ALL-TIME vs. STONEHILL
- This will be the 41st meeting in the all-time series between the Hawks and Skyhawks. Saint Anselm owns a 30-5-5 mark in the series.
- The teams met earlier this season in a two-game weekend set on Nov. 12 and Nov. 13. The teams skated to a 3-3 tie on Nov. 12, marking the only draw both teams have this season. The Hawks grabbed a 3-2 win on Nov. 13, a day in which the 2021-22 season was dedicated to Dan Kelly '86.
- In the two game set, senior Kevin Ouellette (Arlington, Mass.) scored in each game while classmates Anthony Iacullo (Barrington, Ill.), Kilian Hammersmith (Glen Ellyn, Ill.), junior Jack Murphy (Marshfield, Mass.), and Schwartz all netted goals for the Hawks.
