MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College men's ice hockey team hosts Saint Michael's College in Northeast-10 Conference play on Friday, Jan. 28 and Saturday, Jan. 29. The weekend series will be the 11th annual Pink in the Rink weekend.

The Hawks concluded their non-conference slate with losses at NCAA Division I Long Island University on Jan. 21 and Jan. 22 by 8-1 and 7-0 scores. Saint Anselm goes into the final stretch of the regular season with a 6-9-1 overall record and a 3-4-1 mark in NE10 contests. After closing January against the Purple Knights, Saint Anselm has a three contest week with a tilt at Stonehill College on Tuesday, Feb. 1 before playing a home-and-home series with Assumption University on Friday, Feb. 4 and Saturday, Feb. 5.
The Purple Knights split a weekend series with Post University on Jan. 21 and Jan. 22, falling by a 3-1 score on Friday before capturing a 7-1 win on Saturday. Saint Michael's is 3-9-0 on the season and 3-5-0 in the league. After making the trip to the Hilltop, the Purple Knights host Southern New Hampshire University on Friday, Feb. 4 and Saturday, Feb. 5.

For the 11th consecutive season, the Saint Anselm College ice hockey programs are raising money and awareness for the fight against breast cancer. The money raised will be for the Breast Cancer Research Wing at the Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, N.H. Chuck-a-pucks will be available for sale during the games for $1 per puck. Pink ribbons will also be available for sale during the contest for $1 per ribbon.
SCOUTING SAINT ANSELM
- In the weekend series with LIU, freshman Chase Reynolds (Middletown, Conn.) netted his second goal of the season while classmate Hunter Brackett (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) recorded an assist on the play.
- Freshman Trevor Lally (Arlington, Mass.) made his collegiate debut in relief on Friday while making his first collegiate start on Saturday. Lally stopped 44 shots on goal across the two games against the Sharks.
- Junior alternate captain Andrew Andary (Macomb, Mich.) had his six game point streak snapped on Friday. He leads the conference with 22 points while ranking second in goals (11) and assists (11).
- Sophomore Tommy Schwartz (Ridgefield, Conn.) and senior Kevin Ouellette (Arlington, Mass.) rank second and third on the squad with 12 points and 11 points each, respectively. Schwartz has found the back of the net six times and assisted on six others while Ouellette has lit the lamp four times and earned a helper on seven.
- Junior Nick Howard (Burlington, Mass.) has been named NE10 Goaltender of the Week three times this season. He holds a 2.96 goals-against average and a .904 save percentage. The junior ranks second and fourth in the conference in those categories.
- The Hawks are 8-for-66 when skating on the power play, good for a 12.1% conversion rate. On the penalty kill, the Hawks have allowed 14 goals in 76 shorthanded scenarios which translates to an 81.6% kill rate.
SCOUTING SAINT MICHAEL'S
- The Purple Knights netted a season-high seven goals against Post, recording the weekend split with the Eagles. Case Kantgias netted two goals while five other student-athletes lit the lamp in the 7-1 win.
- Kantgias leads the team with five goals while Thomas Flack, Sel Narby, Connor Redden, and Cameron Stewart are all tied with three goals each. 19 Purple Knights have netted goals this season.
- Narby is the team-leader with seven assists, adding to his three goals for a team-high 10 points. Flack, Sam Johnson, and Matt Schreiner have recorded five helpers each on the season.
- Hugo Turcotte and Marshall Murphy has split starts for the Purple Knights with each student-athlete drawing six starts. Turcotte is 1-5 with a 3.58 goals-against average and a .897 save percentage while Murphy is 2-4 and holds a .899 save percentage and a 3.30 goals against.
- The Purple Knights are 11-for-70 on the power play, good for a 15.7% conversion rate. The team has been short-handed 67 times and is killing off its penalties at an 80.6% rate.
ALL-TIME vs. SAINT MICHAEL'S
- The weekend series will mark the 44th and 45th meetings in the all-time series. The Hawks are 25-15-3 against the Purple Knights.
- Saint Michael's currently holds a three-game win streak over the Hawks including the matchup on Jan. 4. The Purple Knights edged the Hawks by a 3-2 score. Junior Jack Murphy (Marshfield, Mass.) and sophomore Jac Cordeiro (Barnstable, Mass.) netted goals for the Hawks but a late third-period goal by Andrew DeCristoforo gave Saint Michael's the lead with just over two minutes to play.
- Prior to the three-game streak by the Purple Knights, Saint Anselm was winners in five of the six previous contests, dating from Feb. 3, 2018 to Nov. 9, 2019.
