KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Senior forward Chris Paul (Highland Mills, N.Y.) of the Saint Anselm College men's basketball team was named to the Watch List for the 2021 Bevo Francis Award, issued annually to the student-athlete who posts the "finest overall season" within small college basketball.

The list of 100 student-athletes, ranging from NCAA Division II through Division III, the NAIA and the USCAA, will be narrowed to 50 on Feb. 15 and then trimmed to 25 by March 15. The finalists for the national award will be revealed on Apr. 2 and the winner will be crowned on Apr. 8.

Across 12 games in 2021-22, Paul is averaging career-high marks in points per game (19.8), rebounds per game (8.3) and assists per game (3.8), helping his team to an 8-4 record to date. Leading the Northeast-10 Conference in free throws made (59) and free throw attempts (84), Paul ranks fourth in points per game while playing the second-most minutes per game in the league (36.2).

Riding a 28-game streak with double-digit point scoring totals that dates back to Jan. 11, 2020, Paul has scored north of 20 points in six of his 12 games as a senior and has logged three double-doubles. His 1,613 career points is ranked 13th among active NCAA Division II student-athletes and he is one of just five in the nation to have at least 1,500 career points and 700 career rebounds.

Paul was a First Team All-District pick by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) in 2020 and secured Second Team All-East Region by the D2CCA that same year. He also secured NE10 Tournament Most Valuable Player honors shortly after earning First Team All-Conference accolades from the league as a junior.

2022 is the sixth year of the Bevo Francis Award as the award was not issued in 2021. Tim Guers '19 was one of just nine finalists for the prestigious award in 2019 as the multiple-time All America award recipient helped the Hawks to the 2019 NCAA Division II Final Four.
