SCOUTING SAINT ANSELM
- With the victory at home against Saint Michael's on Wednesday, Saint Anselm snapped a brief two-game losing skid. Junior Maeve Murphy (Scituate, Mass.) picked up two goals in the game's first 9:07, elevating the Hawks to a 2-0 lead. The team never looked back, opening up a 4-1 lead in the fourth quarter and only conceding a late marker to the Purple Knights prior to the end of regulation.
- Hawks netminder Sidney Falterer (Fairfield, Conn.) made two saves on four shots, picking up the win in goal. Senior Maddison LeBeau (Westbrook, Maine) earned her first career defensive save as well in her team's victory – it was the team's first defensive save of the 2021 season and the first for the Hawks since Sarah Bagley (North Andover, Mass.) posted one against American International on Oct. 5, 2019.
- Murphy is one of just five student-athletes in the NE10 with double-digit point totals on the season. To date, she has four goals and two assists for 10 points (4-2=10). She is tied for the league lead with two game-winning goals on the season.
- Mackenzie McConnell ranks second in the NE10 with an 0.97 goals-against average. She has logged a 2-1 record for the Hawks across three games so far as a sophomore backstop, splitting time evenly with Falterer.
- Senior Carly LaCasse (Sagamore Beach, Mass.) became the ninth student-athlete in team history to reach 50 career points, doing so last time out against Saint Michael's. Since joining the team in 2018, she has struck for 21 goals and added eight assists for 50 points (21-8=50). She needs just three points to jump all the way up to seventh place in team annals.
- LaCasse has scored seven game-winning goals in her career, ranking third all-time behind Allia Connolly '18 and Michelle Lemelin '20 who each scored 10 in their careers.
