MANSFIELD, Mass. – The Northeast-10 Conference announced the first-ever recipients of its Presidents' Award for Academic Excellence, an honor awarded to graduating senior student-athletes for their outstanding work in the classroom during their college careers.

Grace Guachione '21 of the Saint Anselm women's basketball team and Beanie Luttig '21 from the College's softball program were the first to be honored from Saint Anselm. They join 224 other student-athletes from across the league comprising the inaugural class of honorees.

To be eligible for the Presidents' Award for Academic Excellence, a senior student-athlete must be a graduating NE10 student-athlete, attain the Latin honor of Magna Cum Laude or better and must have participated in at least two seasons of NE10 competition at the time of graduation.

Guachione was nominated for the NE10's Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year honor in late May and was recently honored as Saint Anselm's Senior Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year on Monday. She impressed in the classroom while majoring in Business and Finance, appearing on the Saint Anselm Dean's List eight times.

Luttig, a transfer to Saint Anselm prior to the 2019 softball season, has collected Dean's List honors from the College in each semester. The Criminal Justice major has seen action in 19 games across the previous two seasons, including a career-high 11 games in 2021 to help the Hawks to their second NCAA Division II East Region Championship in three years.
