HOOKSETT, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College women's tennis team was defeated on Sunday by Southern New Hampshire University, 6-1.
The Hawks drop to 1-7 on the season. The Penmen, ranked third in the East Region, move to 7-3 overall. Saint Anselm wraps up the regular season of play Tuesday against Saint Michael's.
Southern New Hampshire picked up 6-0 victories at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles, securing the first point of the match, but the Penmen defaulted at No. 6 singles. With the match tied at one, Southern New Hampshire eased its way to wins at No. 1 through No. 5 singles.
Senior Dominique Bolduc (Manchester, N.H.) won two games, but fell to SNHU's Mina Houge by a 6-1, 6-1 result at No. 3 singles.
Tuesday's match against Saint Michael's will be played at Southern New Hampshire University at 4 p.m. The Hawks will also celebrate the team's two graduating senior student-athletes, Bolduc and Maikah Bulpitt (Cumberland, R.I.), following the match.
