2/25/2021 12:00:00 PM

MANCHESTER, N.H. – The nationally-ranked Saint Anselm College women's lacrosse team announced its schedule for the upcoming 2021 season on Thursday. The schedule includes 12 games with home-and-away series against each program in the Northeast Division of the Northeast-10 Conference. Women's lacrosse contests will be played on Wednesdays and Saturdays throughout the spring, starting on Wednesday, Mar. 17 against Southern New Hampshire.

Under the leadership of sixth-year Head Coach Meghan Smith '12, Saint Anselm was picked 17th in the Nike/US Lacrosse Magazine Preseason Top 20 Poll and 18th in the IWLCA Division II Coaches' Preseason Poll.

The dates for the NE10 Women's Lacrosse Championship will be announced in March, as well the procedure for tournament seeding and playoff structure.

As has been the case throughout the academic year, Saint Anselm student-athletes will continue to undergo rigorous surveillance testing in accordance with NE10, NCAA and College health protocols. All visiting teams will be subject to follow NE10 COVID-19 testing protocols, in addition to health and safety guidelines from their institutions and local communities.

At this time, no outside spectators will be permitted, including family members and parents of student-athletes. Currently enrolled students and Saint Anselm faculty and staff will be permitted to attend home athletic events, with protocols for masks and socially distanced seating. Capacity and occupancy may be limited based on facility size.

Saint Anselm plans to live stream each of its home contests through the NE10 Now Network, the digital home of the Northeast-10 Conference, with a broadcaster. Live Statistics will also be provided for fans through the College's new SIDEARM Sports website.

Saint Anselm won all four of its contents in the shortened 2020 season, placing 20th in the IWLCA national rankings at season's end. The Hawks defeated No. 16 Saint Leo, 13-3, in the season opener on Mar. 1 and then followed up that decision with an 18-11 win over Embry-Riddle just days later. Saint Anselm closed out the Florida trip with a 17-12 victory over Wingate and a 19-9 triumph over Saint Thomas Aquinas in neutral-site contests.

Additional Saint Anselm sport schedules will be released in the coming days.
