NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) has announced its Division II All-American teams — and for the first time in program history, a Saint Anselm women's lacrosse student-athlete has earned First-Team honors. Senior Elizabeth Driscoll (Marblehead, Mass.) is now one of one, becoming the first Hawk ever named a First-Team All-American by the IWLCA. It's the first All-American selection of her career from the IWLCA, and it puts her in elite company, joining Marissa Daly '15 as just the second Saint Anselm player to be named to any of the organization's three All-America teams.
Driscoll also earned a spot on the USA Lacrosse All-American Second Team, making her the first Hawk to appear on that list since — well, herself, after receiving honorable mention recognition in 2023.
Head Coach Meghan Smith '12 couldn't say enough about what Driscoll has accomplished on the Hilltop, stating, "Elizabeth is so deserving of this honor, and I can't think of a better representative than Elizabeth to be the program's first-ever First Team All-American!"
On the field, Driscoll has had a stellar season in goal for the Hawks. She led the NE10 and ranked third in NCAA Division II with a .521 save percentage (among goalies with at least 10 games played). She ranks second in the conference with 10.26 saves per game and is one of just 22 goalies nationwide averaging at least 10 saves per contest — a number that also ranks as the third-highest in a single season in program history. Her 10.26 goals-against average stands as the third-best in the NE10 (minimum 10 games played).
Starting all 19 games for Saint Anselm this spring, Driscoll logged over 1,047 minutes in net. She reached two major career milestones: surpassing 500 career saves — now second-most in program history — and setting a new program record with 36 career victories, four more than the previous mark.
Driscoll's trophy case now includes: three Northeast-10 (NE10) All-Conference selections, three IWLCA All-Region nods, six NE10 Player of the Week honors, two NE10 Goalkeeper of the Year awards, an IWLCA All-American honorable mention, USA Lacrosse Second-Team All-American, and now, IWLCA First-Team All-American.
Her biggest impact, though, may be something that can't be measured by stats or awards — it's the work she puts in behind the scenes, at practice, during the offseason, and in setting the tone for her teammates. Smith explains, "(Driscoll) is the ultimate teammate and leads by example in everything she does! She is so hardworking and never settles for anything less than her best. Her drive has helped raise the standard of our program and was a huge reason for our team's success. Elizabeth is an unbelievably talented lacrosse player, but an even better person, and I can't wait to see what she goes on to do next. Thanks for all the leadership, laughs, and saves — we love you, #99!"
