The Hawks carry a 5-3 record into play, having won five of their last six games – the team's one loss came to nationally-ranked Stonehill by a one-point margin on Sunday, Dec. 5. Monday's game is the second-to-last non-conference game for the Hawks, who play at Daemen on Saturday, Jan. 1.

Post has lost two games in a row, most recently falling to Bentley in an overtime buzzer-beating fashion. Ahead by a 90-88 with two seconds left, Post conceded a long-distance pass to the three-point arc where the Falcons heaved up a desperation shot that found the bottom of the net.

Fans attending Monday's game are expected to familiarize themselves with the College's spectator and ticketing policies.

The Hawks men's basketball team and Saint Anselm College are proud to honor, recognize and thank the team's Hawks Soar Higher Club donors.

SCOUTING SAINT ANSELM

  • Saint Anselm picked up a convincing 67-51 victory over Jefferson University on Saturday. The game featured two of the winningest coaches in NCAA Division II history as Jefferson, piloted by Herb Magee in his 55th year, has claimed victory in over 1,100 games during his tenure. The Hawks, guided by Keith Dickson in his 36th year, have logged 669 wins since the 1986-87 campaign.
  • The Hawks defense kept regionally-ranked Jefferson to just one three-point make on 14 attempts, and the basket that poured in for the Rams was a well-defended desperation heave that just beat the expiring shot clock. The Hawks have not kept an opponent to one or fewer three-point baskets since Nov. 11, 2012 against Mercy (N.Y.).
  • Returning to game play for the first time in 2021-22, junior Tyler Arbuckle (Bristol, Conn.) led the Hawks with 22 points against Jefferson and fell just one rebound shy of a double-double. Senior Chris Paul (Highland Mills, N.Y.) also narrowly missed the double-double with nine rebounds and 19 points. Senior Miles Tention (Palo Alto, Calif.) sent home 11 points for Saint Anselm.
  • Paul and classmate Gustav Suhr-Jessen (Virum, Denmark) reached 100 career games in a Saint Anselm uniform on Saturday. Starters since their debuts on the Hilltop during the 2017-18 season, the duo have combined to score 2,567 points in that timeframe. Only 54 student-athletes to date have played as many games in program history.
  • Sophomore Matt Becker (Fairfield, Conn.), in his debut season, ranks fourth in the NE10 with a 2.08 assist-to-turnover ratio. Tention and Paul rank within the top-20 of the league in that metric.
  • Saint Anselm ranks second in the NE10 with just 122 fouls and 91 turnovers to date.

PREVIEWING POST

  • Post has competed in three overtime games this season and owns a 1-2 record in those games. The team opened with back-to-back overtime contests at the Bridgeport Tournament, falling to Southern Connecticut State before picking up an 89-86 win against the host Purple Knights in extra time.
  • Saint Anselm will be the sixth NE10 opponent of the season for Post, who has played SCSU, Southern New Hampshire, Stonehill, American International, Saint Michael's and Bentley to date – the Eagles have won just one of those four contests, defeating AIC on Wednesday, Dec. 1 by an 82-70 margin.
  • Devonte McCall ranks 21st in the country with 2.10 blocked shots per game with Isaiah Holmes ranking second in the CACC with 5.2 assists per game. McCall has also produced 7.6 rebounds per game, the fifth-best figure in the league, and is fourth in the conference with 19.3 points per game.
  • The Eagles have shot over 45% from the floor in each of their last two games, both losses. The team is proficient from three-point distance, making 37.3% of their attempts from beyond the arc and have 22 treys in the last two games.

ALL-TIME vs. POST

  • Saint Anselm is 11-1 in the all-time series against Post. The one defeat for the Hawks came last time out on Dec. 4, 2019, a road contest in the Eagles gymnasium.
  • The Hawks were winners of 11 consecutive games from Dec. 29, 2004 through Dec. 30, 2017. Six of those contests were double-digit wins for Saint Anselm.
