MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College women's basketball team hits the road to take on the University of the Sciences and Goldey-Beacom on Sunday and Monday, respectively.

Saint Anselm takes a 6-4 overall record into its two-game road trip. The Hawks face the Devils on Sunday at 2 p.m. before battling the Lightning on Monday at 1 p.m. In total, the next four games for Saint Anselm will be played on the road.
USciences is off to a strong start, winning seven of the team's first eight games. The Devils have qualified for the NCAA postseason in four consecutive years (2017-20) and won a tournament game in 2017, 2018 and 2019. USciences played host to the 2019 NCAA Division II East Region Championship, won by Saint Anselm.
Goldey-Beacom carries a 5-6 record into play on Monday against Saint Anselm, winning each of its last two games. The team's game on Saturday against Adelphi was postponed and, prior to that, the team played to a 72-62 win at the District of Columbia on Wednesday. The Lightning fell to USciences on Saturday, Dec. 11 by a 55-34 margin.
All fans attending the Goldey-Beacom game on Monday must wear a face covering and failure to comply will result in ejection from the site of competition.
SCOUTING SAINT ANSELM
- Saint Anselm scored 11 of the game's final 14 points on the way to a 75-69 victory at the FPU Fieldhouse last time out. Freshman Katie Lemanski (Haymarket, Va.) came up clutch for Saint Anselm, scoring a career-high nine points that included six points in the game's final 2:22. She also hauled in four rebounds, helping the Hawks secure the team edge in rebounding, 37-31.
- Senior Peyton Steinman (Pittsfield, Mass.) continued her hot streak in the game against Franklin Pierce, putting home a game-high 28 points. In her last three games, Steinman is averaging 34 points and 9.7 rebounds per game – she has scored 102 of her team's 215 points in that time frame and ranks 12th in NCAA Division II with 21.2 points per game.
- Sophomore Gabby Turco (Wildwood, N.J.) logged 18 points against the Ravens, giving her double-digit points in each of her 10 career games to date. She also picked up seven rebounds, establishing a career high mark, while trailing Steinman for the team lead by just one carom.
- Saint Anselm has shot north of 42% from the floor across each of the last three games and has made at least 19 free throws in each game. The Hawks have also hauled in 35 rebounds in each of those games. Additionally, the Hawks have been whistled for just 36 fouls while Saint Anselm opponents have been called for 69 infractions.
- The Hawks rank 15th in NCAA Division II with a .799 free throw percentage, paced by Steinman's nation-leading 68 free throws made. Saint Anselm also ranks 32nd in the country by committing just 13.8 turnovers per game.
- Corey Boilard, in his fifth year at the helm of the Saint Anselm women's basketball team, also picked up his 150th career win as a collegiate head coach. With the Hawks, the New Hampshire native has won 66 out of his 99 games on the Hilltop (.667) after locking down 84 wins at NCAA Division III Johnson & Wales (R.I.).
PREVIEWING USCIENCES
- USciences has lost just one games this season thanks to the nation's sixth-finest scoring defense. On average, the Devils are conceding just 49.9 points per game and the team has committed just 97 miscues on the year, ranking ninth in the country.
- The Devils are led by Jess Huber and her 18.9 points per game, ranking 20th in NCAA Division II with 2.88 three-point field goals per game. After scoring just five points in the season-opener against Saint Rose, she has posted at least 14 points per game in each of the next seven games. She also logged a streak of five consecutive games with 20 points.
- Freshman Anna McTamney has scored an average of 9.4 points per game despite just playing in 16 minutes per contest, on average. Senior Kendall Keyes is producing 9.3 points per game, including 11 points against Goldey-Beacom last time out.
- USciences is 60-5 (.923) when playing at home since the start of the 2016-17 season.
LOOKING AT THE LIGHTNING
- Briana Seltzer is averaging 14.9 points per game for Goldey-Beacom and has excelled at the free throw line, burying 30 of her 34 free throw attempts on the season. She is joined on the roster by Alexis Harrison, who is also posting double-digit points per game totals (14.4) while hauling in 6.9 rebounds per game, on average.
- The Lightning are in a rough stretch of shooting the ball from distance, making just 13 three-point field goals in their last 66 attempts (19.7%). Sarah Round is the team's leader in three-point field goals made with 22 "makes" on 70 attempts (31.4%).
ALL-TIME vs. USCIENCES, GOLDEY-BEACOM
- Saint Anselm has won both of the games played against USciences in team history and is also undefeated (1-0) in the all-time series against Goldey-Beacom.
- The Hawks posted a one-point victory over USciences on Nov. 19, 2005 and, most recently, eked out a 45-40 win over the Devils on Nov. 9, 2012. Sunday's game is the first game that Saint Anselm will play against USciences in its own gym.
- Saint Anselm posted a 33-point victory over Goldey Beacom on Dec. 15, 2019 in Stoutenburgh Gymnasium. Steinman and Sara Messler '20 each scored 20 points with the former pulling down 13 rebounds and the latter logging 10 caroms.
