Box Score | Video Highlights

Saint Anselm improves to 3-1 on the season, having won three-straight games entering Tuesday's 7:30 p.m. road contest at Stonehill. Assumption remains winless in four games played in 2017-18, dropping its first two Northeast-10 Conference tilts of the year.

Assumption took its largest lead of the contest early in the game, racking up the tilt's first four points before Cody Ball started the scoring with a three-point basket only 2:05 into the game. Ahead by only one point, 23-22, Austin Nydegger put the Hawks ahead by four points with 6:56 left in the opening half.

Nydegger's trey started an 11 point scoring run that was capped by a Jimmy Panzini layup with 4:09 left, creating a 34-22 lead for Saint Anselm.

Assumption cut the Saint Anselm lead to one point, 43-42, with 13:56 left in regulation time before a Tim Guers jumper reestablished a three-point margin for the Hawks. The hosts would pull away in the next few minutes, capitalizing on a nine-point run that was capped by an Alonzo Jackson dunk with 10:37 left.

The Greyhounds once again made an attempt at shrinking the Hawks lead to a manageable deficit as a Branislav Vujadinovic layup brought Assumption to within six points, 63-57, with 4:42 left on the scoreboard. Fortin immediately answered on the next possession as his three-point basket grew his team's lead to nine points.

Guers finished with 19 points for the Hawks, scoring 16 of those points in the second half. Ball poured home 15 points and freshman Chris Paul posted seven points and four rebounds. Green added nine rebounds, a game-high mark, and seven points in 21 minutes off the bench.

Vujadinovic led Assumption with 19 points. Joe Sullivan hauled in seven caroms, leading the Greyhounds in rebounding.

Prior to the game, Guers was presented with a commemorative ball in recognition of his 1,000th career point, scored last Saturday against Concordia (N.Y.).
