Heckt's goal came on a ball over the top from Emmet O'Callaghan (Weymouth, Mass.) that led to a one-on-one matchup with the Assumption keeper, which Heckt was able to win.
The duo combined for the game-tying goal in the 72nd minute with the Hawks trailing 1-0. Heckt played a ball across the goal line that found O'Callaghan wide open for a tap-in goal that served as the equalizer.
Following the tournament, Dan Kelly and Kyler Thayer were named to the all-tournament team.
The Hawks held a 16-11 advantage in shots while both teams took five corner kicks. Stephen McLeod (Chelmsford, Mass.) played the first half and overtime, making one save, to pick up his first win of the year. Helio Meirelles Neto (Ribeirao Preto, Brazil) played the second half and allowed the one goal.
Saint Anselm outshot the Greyhounds 8-5 in the opening half, but neither team could find the back of the net. The Hawks best chance of the period came in the closing minutes as O'Callaghan played a corner kick into the box that JD Hayward (Ashford, Conn.) was able to get a head on, but his shot went wide.
Assumption took a 1-0 lead in the opening minute of the second half as Johnny Aviza played a long ball over the top of the Hawks defense that landed right at the feet of Jason Lages. Lages took a touch and fired opposite post, tucking it in the right side of the net for the one goal advantage.
Brian Murray suffered the setback for Assumption while making four saves.
The Hawks return to action on Tuesday, Sept. 13 when they travel to Assumption for a rematch with the Greyhounds in Northeast-10 Conference play at 7 p.m.
