COLCHESTER, Vt. – Olivia Griffin and Corey Murray scored in the final 10 minutes as the Saint Anselm College women's soccer team picked up a 2-0 win at Saint Michael's College in a Northeast-10 Conference matchup on Wednesday afternoon at Duffy Field.

After over 80 minutes of scoreless soccer, Griffin scored the first goal of her career in the 81st minute and Murray added an insurance goal in the 88th minute to give Saint Anselm (3-5-1, 1-4-1 NE-10) its first conference win of the season. The win was also the second time the Hawks have won at Saint Michael's (1-7-0, 1-5-0 NE-10) this season, after taking down the Purple Knights 3-0 in the Catholic Cup to open the season.
Cassie Quattropani recorded her first shutout of the season, the 10th of her career, to earn her third win of the season. The senior goalkeeper only had two saves to make in the game.
Griffin's game-winning goal came off a corner kick by Sophie Smith in the 81st minute. After Smith launched the ball into the box, St. Michael's goalie Megan LeCours punched the ball to Griffin and she fired a shot high into the net. Smith's assist was her first collegiate point.
Murray then put the game out of reach in the 88th minute, scoring an unassisted goal for her third tally of the season. The sophomore went through clear on goal on a quick counter and finished it off to ice the win.
Ten different players had one shot each for Saint Anselm, which held a slight 10-8 advantage in shots in the game and got five efforts on goal, compared to just two for the hosts. The Hawks also took eight corners to four for the Purple Knights.
The Hawks return home to face Pace on Saturday, Sept. 1 in an 11 a.m. kickoff to start a soccer doubleheader on Homecoming Weekend at Melucci Field.
