ALBANY, N.Y. – The Saint Anselm College women's tennis team dropped just eight games in nine matches to blank Saint Rose College 9-0 in Northeast-10 Conference play on Saturday afternoon at Kelton Courts at Myers Middle School.

Saint Anselm (3-4, 2-4 NE-10) lost four games across the six singles matches, which all were either 6-0 or 6-1, and four in the three doubles matches to cruise past Saint Rose (0-6, 0-6 NE-10). The win means the Hawks are now 13-0 all-time against the Golden Knights.
In doubles, Kaitlin Hughes and Jess Perkins continued their unblemished start to the season with an 8-2 victory over Averia Bowen and Alanna Bergmann at the second spot, moving the pair to 7-0. The pairs of Tess Malerbi and Meghan Golden and Caroline Templer and Bridget Keefe each downed their opposition 8-1 at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles, respectively.
Perkins, Malerbi and Templer all recorded 6-0, 6-0 wins at first, second and fifth singles for the Hawks. All six of Perkins' wins this season are now of the 6-0, 6-0 variety.
Golden and Hughes posted identical 6-0, 6-1 scores in their matches at No. 3 and No. 4 singles with Hughes' win moving her to 5-2 on the season. Keefe was a 6-1, 6-1 winner at No. 6 singles for her first collegiate singles victory.
Saint Anselm finishes a busy weekend with a match at Le Moyne on Sunday, Sept. 25 at 9 a.m. The men's team is also in action at the same time.
