WALTHAM, Mass. – Jess Perkins rolled to her fourth-straight 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles but Bentley University came back from 2-1 down after doubles to defeat the Saint Anselm College women's tennis team 6-3 on Saturday afternoon.

Saint Anselm (2-2, 1-2 NE-10) took a 2-1 lead into singles play after wins from the pairs of Perkins and Kaitlin Hughes and Bridget Keefe and Caroline Templer. However, Bentley (2-2, 2-2 NE-10) won five of the six singles matches to pick up the victory.
Perkins and Hughes won their fourth-straight match, three in conference play, at No. 2 doubles with an 8-2 win over Hannah Fabianski and Katie Brandow. Meanwhile, the freshman pairing of Keefe and Templer recorded a narrow 8-6 victory over Tiffany Suchanek and Corris MacLean at the No. 3 spot for their first collegiate win as a pair.
In singles, Perkins extended her games won streak to 48 in a row to start the season by cruising to her fourth consecutive 6-0, 6-0 win. It marked the 11th time in her career that she has not dropped a game in a singles victory.
Outside of Perkins' win, Bentley controlled singles play by earning four straight-set wins out of their five victories. After losing the first set of her match against Katie Tynan at No. 4 singles 6-0, Hughes roared back to take the second by the same score. However, Tynan outlasted Hughes 6-4 in the third in the lone three-set match of the day.
Saint Anselm plays its second NE-10 match in as many days by hosting Assumption on Sunday, Sept. 18 at 11 a.m.
