Box Score

HENNIKER, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College men's ice hockey team and New England College played to a 2-2 draw on Saturday night in New England Hockey Conference action in Henniker, N.H. The Hawks move to 10-7-3 and 6-5-3 in the NEHC, while the Pilgrims go to 10-7-4 and 5-5-4 in league matches.

Saint Anselm held a 34-21 advantage in shots on goal in the game, while the two teams combined for 14 penalties on the night. Shane Joyce (Pembroke, Mass.) stopped 19-of-21 shots on the night in the draw, while his counterpart Brett Kilar posted 32 saves.

The Hawks would strike first 12:17 into the period as Nick Gorski (Sandown, N.H.) would send a pass from the goal line to the front of the net where teammate Jeremy Carignan (Amos, Quebec) would finish netting his third goal of the season.

NEC would tally the equalizer at the 17:26 mark as Conor Crouse would convert on a power-play putting in a nice feed from Kyle Manlow.

The Hawks would respond quickly with a power-play goal of their own just a minute later as CJ Blaszka (Brookfield, Conn.) would notch his ninth goal of the season assisted by Tyler Estee (Bow, N.H.) and Brandon Kerrigan (Boston, Mass.).

Both teams took a pair of shots on goal in the overtime, but the goalies turned away every attempt they faced to earn the 2-2 draw.

The Hawks return to action next Friday when Saint Anselm travels to the University of Southern Maine for a 7:00 p.m. game in NEHC play.
