MANCHESTER, N.H. – Senior Callie Millet (Lancaster, Mass.) played a masterful cross off a corner entry to a streaking sophomore Alexis Elowitch (Portland, Maine) for the Hawks' lone score late, but the Saint Anselm College women's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision to American International College Saturday night under the lights of Grappone Stadium.

• Elowitch recorded her fourth goal of the season, but first since the Hawks' 2-1 win over Bentley University back on Sept. 22. With an assist earlier this month, she upped her season tally to nine points.
• Millet recorded her second assist of the season, tallying her fourth point of the year in the process.
• Junior Cassie Quattropani (East Hartford, Conn.) recorded three saves, falling to 5-6-1 overall in her 11 starts.
For the YellowJackets…
• Jessica Margaretta and Johanna Nilsson netted the goals for American International.
• Rachel Edgin continued her stellar play this season, giving up one goal while tallying four saves and improving her season record to 9-4-1 overall.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Saint Anselm opened the game with some spirited play, finding seams but unable to get through to the back line of the stingy AIC defense. Possession evened through the first half, but neither team could find the netting locked in a scoreless draw at the half.
• Much like it did in the first half, Saint Anselm jumped on the possession early in the second frame and got of a series of early attacks.
• It was a series of counters by the 'Jackets that led to the game's first goal. After Quattropani stuffed a 1-on-1 save by AIC's prolific scorer Alylssa Werbicki, followed by a sprawling save on a shot by AIC's Federica Frew, Romina Bell served up a perfect corner entry to a streaking Margaretta, who booted it home from the left post in the 64th minute.
• Just seven minutes later, an attempted Saint Anselm clear up the middle found the foot of Nilsson, who seared the netting from the top of the box to surge AIC to a 2-0 lead at the 70:28 mark of the second half.
• Saint Anselm finally got on the board with just 21 seconds remaining, as Millet's entry from the right corner played to the near post rocketed off Elowitch's right foot into the upper netting.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
• Saint Anselm mustered one more shot that AIC (11-10) with both teams taking five shots on target.
• Two of the game's three goals were scored off two of the game's three corners.
NOTES
• Saint Anselm drops to 19-11-4 in the all-time series, including a 17-10-4 mark in league matchups.
• Saint Anselm snapped AIC's four-game shutout streak with the late goal, also halting Edgin's scoreless streak at 664 straight minutes.
• The Hawks drop back-to-back games for the first time this season, falling to an even 5-5 in Northeast-10 Conference play.
• With the loss, the Hawks entered a three-way tie for eighth place with New Haven and Sothern Connecticut State in the league standings, though still with plenty of soccer yet to be played.
