NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – Senior Kyla Gustavson (Nashua, N.H.) led the Hawks with 11 kills and nine digs, but that was not enough, as the Saint Anselm College volleyball team fell to Merrimack College, 3-1, Tuesday evening at Hammel Court with set scores of 25-19, 20-25, 21-25 and 20-25.

With the loss, Saint Anselm dips to 4-3 overall, while the Warriors earned their second win of the season and jump to 2-6.

In addition to Gustavson, sophomore Lauren Oxley (Bristow, Va.) recorded nine kills and junior Melissa Ouellet (Salem, N.H.) added seven. Senior Vivian Fitzgerald (Winfield, Ill.) and junior Natalie Steinwart (Aurora, Ill.) each chipped in five, with Steinwart also accumulating 32 assists and six digs.

On the defensive side, freshman CC Chrisom (Dover, N.H.) and junior Melissa Jewett (Newton, Mass.) were responsible for six digs and 12 digs, respectively.
