MANCHESTER, N.H. – Senior Kyla Gustavson (Nashua, N.H.) recorded her eighth double-double of the season with 10 kills and 17 digs on Senior Day, but the Saint Anselm College volleyball team was blanked, 3-0, by Southern Connecticut State University on Sunday afternoon in the final match of the season at Stoutenburgh Gymnasium.
The Hawks dip to 7-19 on the season, including 2-11 in Northeast-10 play, while the Owls improve to 17-11, 5-7 NE-10.
Set scores were 26-24, 25-17, 25-17.
In addition to Gustavson, freshman Brennah Gladwill (Citrus Heights, Calif.) chipped in offensively with nine kills and a .316 hitting percentage, while rookie CC Chrisom (Dover, N.H.) was solid on the defensive side with 13 digs.
Junior Melissa Ouellet (Salem, N.H.) chipped in five kills, with classmate Holland McNabb (Huntington Beach, Calif.) adding four kills to go along with a team-best .364 hitting percentage.
Junior Natalie Steinwart (Aurora, Ill.) quarterbacked the offense with 33 assists and added six digs on the defensive side.
Seniors Gustavson, Vivian Fitzgerald (Winfield, Ill.) and Kylie Kozlowski (Quincy, Mass.) were all honored in a ceremony prior to the match.
The Hawks wrap up their season Saturday, Nov. 16 at noon when they take on Assumption College at Laska Gymnasium.
