MANCHESTER, N.H. – Junior Melissa Ouellet (Salem, N.H.) led with seven kills as the Saint Anselm College volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision to Merrimack College on Tuesday evening for Northeast-10 volleyball action in Stoutenburgh Gymnasium.

With the loss, Saint Anselm dips to 4-10, 0-4 NE-10, while Merrimack jumps to 7-7 overall with a 2-0 mark in conference play.

The Warriors grabbed the first two sets, 25-19 and 25-16, before Saint Anselm rallied to take the third, 25-21. The Hawks held a steady lead in the fourth until Merrimack took the lead at 21-20 and captured the match at 25-23 by taking advantage of a few Hawks errors and forcing a kill to seal the deal.

Senior Kyla Gustavson (Nashua, N.H.) recorded six kills and 10 digs, as junior Natalie Steinwart (Aurora, Ill.) and classmate Holland McNabb (Huntington Beach, Calif.) each chipped in five. Steinwart also added 26 assists and four digs to her credit.

Freshman CC Chrisom (Dover, N.H.) and junior Jenny Doder (St. Louis, Mo.) each spent some time on the court earning seven digs apiece, as junior Melissa Jewett (Newton, Mass.) led the team with 20.   

Stephanie Sheehan from Merrimack landed double digits in kills and digs with 14 and 17, respectively. Jennifer Cain did the same with 12 kills and 16 digs.
