LAKEWOOD, N.J. – Senior Kyla Gustavson (Nashua, N.H.) led the Hawks with 12 kills and 10 digs as the Saint Anselm College volleyball team took down Georgian Court University, 3-1, Saturday afternoon at the Wellness Center for non-conference volleyball action.
With the win, Saint Anselm bumps to 5-10 overall, as the lions dip to 9-9.
The Hawks took the first two sets 25-18 and 25-22, before giving up the third, 16-25. Saint Anselm closed out the match, however, grabbing the fourth set, 25-18.
Gustavson led the Hawks in kills and also chipped in four service aces, while junior Holland McNabb (Huntington Beach, Calif.) and freshman Brennah Gladwill (Citrus Heights, Calif.) each recorded five apiece.
Junior Natalie Steinwart (Aurora, Ill.) dished out 25 assists, in addition to her pair of kills, three service aces and six digs. Classmate Melissa Jewett (Newton, Mass.) reached double figures in digs with 13.
Defensively, junior Jenny Doder (St. Louis, Mo.) and McNabb each brought six digs to the table.
The Hawks will look to keep rolling and return to the court Sunday, Oct. 13 as they travel to Millersville in a 1 p.m. contest.
