MANCHESTER, N.H. – Freshman Brennah Gladwill (Citrus Heights, Calif.) rattled off seven kills and reached double digits in digs with 10, while classmate Micaela Donatio (North Andover, Mass.) earned six kills and a team-high five blocks as the Saint Anselm College volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision to American International College on Saturday evening for Northeast-10 volleyball action in Stoutenburgh Gym.

With the loss, Saint Anselm moves to a 4-10 overall record, 0-3 NE-10, while the Yellow Jackets will surge to a 9-7 record and remain undefeated in league play at 3-0.

American International took the first set, 25-22, before the Hawks broke out to take the second by a score of 25-19. After trailing 11-3 in the third set, Saint Anselm went on a ten-point run backed by strong serving from Holland McNabb (Huntington Beach, Calif.), to take the lead at 14-11. In the run, McNabb recorded a pair of aces and three different Hawks registered a kill. Despite the push in the third, the Yellow Jackets took the final two sets, 25-21 and 25-23.

Senior Vivian Fitzgerald (Winfield, Ill.) led the Hawk hitters with eight kills, while juniors Melissa Ouellet (Salem, N.H.) and McNabb added seven apiece.

In addition to Gladwill, who also pitched in five blocks, two other Hawks reached double figures in digs as McNabb posted 10 and senior Kyla Gustavson (Nashua, N.H.) earned a team-high 17.

Junior Natalie Steinwart (Aurora, Ill.), in the setter spot, accumulated 30 assists, three kills and eight digs.

As a team, the Hawks notched 12 service aces and held the Yellow Jackets to just three.

The Hawks return to the court Tuesday, Oct. 8 at 7:30 p.m. when they play host to Merrimack College.
