RINDGE, N.H. – Senior Kyla Gustavson (Nashua, N.H.) led the Hawks with nine kills and 13 digs as the Saint Anselm volleyball team fell to Franklin Pierce University, 3-0, Tuesday evening with set scores of 25-19, 25-22 and 25-9.
With the loss, Saint Anselm drops to 7-14 overall and 2-6 in the league, while the Ravens will soar to 9-6 overall with a 4-4 mark in conference play.
Freshman Brennah Gladwill (Citrus Heights, Calif.) recorded six kills and two service aces, while junior Melissa Ouellet (Salem, N.H.) tallied four kills and sophomore Lauren Oxley (Bristow, Va.) chipped in three with a .600 hitting average.
Junior Natalie Steinwart (Aurora, Ill.) dished out 25 assists and added five digs in the setter position.
In addition to Gustavson's 13, junior Melissa Jewett (Newton, Mass.) recorded a team-high 17 digs. Junior Jenny Doder (St. Louis, Mo.) added six digs for the Hawks.
The Hawks return to action Friday, Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. when they travel to take on the College of Saint Rose.
