WORCESTER, Mass. – Freshman Cassie Quattropani (East Hartford, Conn.) made nine saves to keep the Greyhounds off the board, but the Saint Anselm College women's soccer team played to a double-overtime scoreless draw with Assumption College on Saturday afternoon for Northeast-10 women's soccer action.
With the tie, Saint Anselm will move to a 6-6-3 record with a 5-5-2 stance in the league, as the Greyhounds now stand at 6-3-5 overall and 4-3-5 NE-10.
The Hawks were outshot 22-9, but just 9-5 in shots on target. Saint Anselm held a 5-4 advantage in corner kicks.
Sophomore Taylor Levy (Norton , Mass.) took four shots, while classmate Rachel Gillies (Auburn, Mass.) and freshman Kendra Bonczar (Milford, N.H.) each took two.
The Hawks had a chance to go ahead in the 57th minute with a free kick from 20 yards out, but the attempt was absorbed by the Greyhound defense to keep the game knotted at zero.
Assumption's Rachel Edgin made five saves.
