BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – The Saint Anselm College volleyball team was taken down by the University of Bridgeport, 3-0, Saturday afternoon at Harvey Hubbell Gymnasium, with set scores of 25-19, 25-16, and 25-7.The Hawks now move to 3-2 on the young season, while Bridgeport improves to 4-1.

In the first set, Shannon Douglas (Rochester, N.H.) led the way for the Hawks with three kills.

After the Hawks tied the game at nine on a Melissa Ouellet (Salem, N.H.) kill, Bridgeport went on a 10-2 run, bringing their lead to eight with a score of 19-11. The Hawks answered back with a 7-3 run, coming within four, but that would not be enough as Bridgeport closed out the set 25-19.

On the day, Douglas had five kills and five digs, while senior Margaret Tereschuk (Mission Viejo, Calif.) had 11 digs. Natalie Steinwart (Aurora, Ill.) added 14 assists, three digs and two kills to her credit and Kyla Gustavson (Nashua, N.H.) chipped in four kills and seven digs.
