WEST HAVEN, Conn. – Margaret Tereschuk (Mission Viejo, Calif.) led the Hawks with 14 digs, but that would not be enough as the Saint Anselm College volleyball team fell to the University of New Haven, 3-0, Tuesday evening at Charger Gymnasium with set scores of 25-14, 25-10, and 25-23.  

Saint Anselm now stands at 5-5 on the season and 1-1 in conference play, while the Chargers improve to a 7-1 overall record and 2-0 in Northeast-10 play.

The Hawks had their best chance in the third set when Saint Anselm cut the Chargers' 15-10 lead to two at 19-17, but then after three Saint Anselm errors and three New Haven kills, the Chargers took the third set 25-23.

Vivian Fitzgerald (Winfield, Ill.) led the Hawks with five kills, while junior Kyla Gustavson (Nashua, N.H.) and freshman Lauren Oxley (Gainesville, Va.) contributed four kills and one dig apiece.

Setter Natalie Steinwart (Aurora, Ill.) added 17 assists to her credit.   

The Hawks return to action Sunday, Sept. 30 as they host a tri-match featuring Assumption College and Merrimack College with matches at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., respectively.
