Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

AIC Sneaks by Men's Soccer, 1-0

MANCHESTER, N.H.Eric Moriarty (Center Harbor, N.H.) made eight saves in net, but the Saint Anselm college men's soccer team fell to American International College, 1-0, Saturday afternoon on Melucci Field for senior day.

The Hawks drop to 5-9-1 overall and 5-6-0 in Northeast-10, while the Yellow Jackets move to 5-9-2 overall and 5-5-2 in league play.

American International scored the only goal of the contest at 42:20 when Conor Doyle sent a feed from 40 yards out into the left side of the box where it found Frazer Cronin. Cronin gathered the ball and kicked it toward the far past where it rolled into the net past Moriarty.

Saint Anselm appeared to have scored early in the game at 9:38, but after the Hawks were celebrating, the official revealed that the linesman had called offsides resulting in no goal. On the play, Cliff Parker (Cromwell, Conn.) lobbed a throw-in from the right side to the far post where Maximillian Glebocki (Wilbraham, Mass.) headed the ball to Jon Britton (South Hamilton, Mass.), on the near post, who headed the ball into the net.

Moriarty made eight saves, including five in the second half, while American International goalkeeper Jason Ryan made six.

The Yellow Jackets held a 12-0 edge in shots and a 7-4 advantage in corner kicks.

The Hawks return to action Tuesday Oct. 23 when they travel to Stonehill College in a 3:30 p.m. matchup.
