MANCHESTER, N.H. – Despite six saves by goaltender Eric Moriarty (Center Harbor, N.H.), the Saint Anselm College men's soccer team fell to the Penmen of Southern New Hampshire University by a 1-0 final score Wednesday night at Larkin Field. The Penmen collected their first conference victory of the season, improving to 2-0-0 overall and 1-0-0 within the Northeast-10 Conference. The Hawks fall to 1-2-1 overall with a 0-1-0 record within the conference.
Chris Tsonis scored his second goal in as many games at 32:57 of the first half, driving home a Yannick Kabala feed from within the box. The Hawks did not register a shot on goal, but forward Maximillian Glebocki (Wilbraham, Mass.) and Keesen Howe (Norwich, Conn.) each fired a shot in the losing effort.
Penmen goaltender Jon Mayo did not make a save while collecting his first victory of the season. Moriarty turned aside six-of-seven shots on net and collected his second loss of the season.
The Hawks return to action Saturday evening as they travel to Mercy College for a 3:00 p.m. contest.
