Hawks, St. Thomas Aquinas Play To 0-0 Stalemate

MANCHESTER, N.H. - Despite a combined 19 shots on goal from both teams, the Saint Anselm College and St. Thomas Aquinas College men's soccer teams played to a 0-0 stalemate following two overtime periods Sunday afternoon at Melucci Field.  With the tie, Saint Anselm's record evens out at 1-1-1 while the Spartans' record stands at 1-0-1.

Keesen Howe (Norwich, Conn.) led the Hawks with four shots total, including two shots on goal.  Maximillian Glebocki (Wilbraham, Mass.) also fired two shots on goal for the Hawks, but was unable to convert against the Spartans defensive unit.

Goaltender Eric Moriarty (Center Harbor, N.H.) went the distance in net for the Hawks, halting all 11 shots on goal that he faced.  Netminder Andrew Tartara also played in all 120 minutes, turning aside all seven shots on net for the Spartans. 

The Hawks return to action this Wednesday, Sept. 7 in a road contest against Southern New Hampshire University.  The first Northeast-10 Conference game on this season's schedule, the match begins at 7:00 p.m. on Larkin Field.
